Meowskers

Having recently suffered an unimaginable tragedy, O'Death will return to the stage for two shows in December. Tickets are on sale....
Mercury Lounge, NYC, 2007Tight lineups all around including Meowskers (who I actually haven't seen live yet). Meowskers are also playing live at Union Hall in Brooklyn tonight (November 30). Stream their whole EP.
12/21 - O'Death, Salt & Samovar, Hoots & Hellmouth, The Goddamn Rattlesnake
12/22 - O'Death, Meowskers, Takka Takka
Salt & Samovar (also playing Zebulon December 12) are the band that Nic Harcourt loves so much (and they're even from Brooklyn).
Takka Takka are busy recording a new album in the studio with Sean Greenhalgh from Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. I saw Takka play a show during CMJ, I can say it seems like they're taking going in a completely new direcion with this one - a good direction.

Meowskers are unbelievably tight, great bill.
I caught them during CMJ for the Pop Tarts Suck Toasted Party and was literally blown away. I'm actually surprised that they're not much bigger right now - it felt like they were playing to a stadium or something, and this was at the delancey.

I heard a rumor that Marc and Andrew from The SLIP are playing those Hiro shows with Natalie. That'd be hot. Those guys are phenomenal players.

Takka Takka is one of the most over-hyped and worst bands in NYC.
For the sake of their longevity I hope they go a completely new and different direction....cause I just dont get them.
I went to a packed show (overly-hyped)
of there's earlier this year at the Mercury Lounge and several audience members were screaming that they needed to get a new singer....among other things.
Meanwhile, down the street is an amazing band (who does not have the Clap Your Hands Say Yeah connections) playing to a half empty room....
Stop following the herds everyone....get off this tunnel vision and go find your own musical acts to support. If you think Takka Takka is worth their success, you'll be happily amused by all the hidden talent out there.
-Okay, done with my rant....Now all those who disagree...unleash all the angry or disagreeing comments...I am looking forward to them.

you know what i want to see? a takka takka - natalie merchant collabration. no offense to radiohead, abraham lincoln, or the beatles - but that would be a great achievement of humanity!

Peter -- check out the new TT lineup. I wasn't a big fan of them a year ago, but they've added some muscle on stage and I really liked the two shows I saw them do in the Fall.
