how the fuck could you not include the monks? the entire band was enlisted and joined together while gi's stationed in germany. good christ, if you're living in brooklyn, you should know who the monks are. c'mon, how did you get an apartment in new york city without knowing anything about 60's garage/punk/rock? isn't that against the rules? come on, don't just wear the hip clothes, back it up. and if you're going to include staff sgt. barry sadler on the list of musicians, then how about the entire marine band? or that of the army, navy, and air force. i'm pretty sure they're enlisted. barry sadler may have been a true nutjob and kind of a badass, but he was not a musician. not in the same way that anyone else on that list is/was. at all. no. also, to put a photo of the "lead vocalist" of tool within 3 miles of photos of presley, cash, kristofferson, or even barry sadler is a fucking sacrilege. i should be doing your job. you should be working on a paper for comp 101. you. dick.

Both Ian Astbury of The Cult and James Blunt were in the British Army, but Astbury's career lasted only for approximately a month.

bruce springsteen i dont beleive he served in the military? as far as i know he pretty much screwed off living the good life.i am a wounded viet nam vet.which just makes me one of the lucky ones.so many gave their lives so the bruce springsteens of this country could have a care free life back in 60,s 70,s.bruce is no patriot.after watching him jump around at halftime of super bowl i dont think he got a deferment for flat feet. so bruce shut your pie hole.you dont represent myself and the vast majority of vets from any war or conflict.our iraq vets are awesome.so sing bruce or try to.many people sacrificed for wealthy people like bruce so he can get his two cents in whenever he wants through the media.

Kristofferson is easily the biggest pro of these dudes. Airborne Ranger, Ranger School, Jump School, the works. "Ranger school was like being on acid", I believe he said. He volunteered for Vietnam, but they wanted him at West Point for a teaching assignment.

Don - Springsteen failed his draft physical, possibly intentionally. However, he has done MANY things to help vets, far more than nearly any contemporary musician I can think of. I don't think you or I can state for sure if he speaks for the majority (you have numbers?), but he does speak for many thousands of veterans. So you might as well tell several thousand of your fellow veterans to shut up as well if they disagree with you, because that's essentially what you're saying.

Jan Berry never served in the military, but his partner Dean Torrence was in the Army. Bobby Rydell was also in the Army...
