I love Obituary, and would recommend Cause of Death for starters - it's one of the top 5 best death metal albums ever. I'm no death metal guy per se, so going to these shows is hilarious. The scenesters are like Trekkies, except they think they're evil and like to stand around glowering. The problem is that any time one of the ten successful death metal bands rolls into town, for some reason they pile on 8 shitty local bands to open, as is the case here. (5 pm start?) I'd recommend showing up at like 12 or 1 and checking them out. John Tardy has possibly the greatest natural death metal voice of all time.

Cause of Death is the Dark Side of the Moon of death metal.

Yes, I had a lot of respect for Cause Of Death when it came out - outstandingly heavy, and one of the few American bands prepared to go to extremes. But now? I'm a grown-up, and I can't forgive their support for US military aggression. Just stupid. Avoid.

Dude, if you stopped listening to bands because of stupid ideologies they hold or the stupid things they believe, you wouldn't own a single CD. Stop acting like boycotting a good band because of their beliefs will stop the war. You give liberals a really bad name

malignancy and incantation would be the only reasons i would go. i like obituary ok, but my tastes are more for the extreme end (malignancy). i really don't want to pay 27.50 plus whatever charges to see them.

Door price is such a bummer. If it was 20 bucks or less I'd definitely go to see Obituary (and to hear Merauder play "Master Killer.")

obituary are the shins of death metal. don't even bother...they're one of the worst and most boring live shows ever
