Morrissey was going to do this festival, but he realized he would probably cancel so he decided to skip the hassle and not sign the contract.

At The Drive-In is still one of the greatest bands I think my ears will ever hear. I hope Sparta and Mars Volta run out of money so they have to reunite...

I think all the hipsters think they're cool something to comment about daft punk b/c that's all they listen to....
and include on that list....
M.I.A. and Justice
garbage music that will be forgotten in 5 years or less....
seriously listen to bands that play REAL instruments and make their OWN music....
LCD Soundsystem on the other hand, I give james murphy/co props cause they're doing something interesting and worthwhile....but please
ohhh daft punk show was the best thing ever needs to stop....
just go to more DECENT shows or just stay in williamsburg and go to your coffee shops/wear tight jeans/grow your hair out like a girl/go drink your red bull....
losers
get a life

the daft punk hater says:
"garbage music that will be forgotten in 5 years or less....
seriously listen to bands that play REAL instruments and make their OWN music...."
--------------
daft punk's first album came out in 1993.
how is what daft punk does not their "OWN" music?
have you ever even listened to any daft punk?
Posted by Anonymous | November 14, 2007 1:08 AM
how bout no more over-opionated blog responses for the year that are sad attempts of forming a hierarchy of personal musical taste...
Posted by Anonymous | November 14, 2007 3:01 AM
anon 1:08am hahahah you're an idiot....ok you and bunch of hipsters can think that they're using their own samples....go back to 1940/1950/1960/1970 stuff and you will here that they're just taking their music.
anon 3:01am stay in williamsburg and please go listen to your daft punk mix tapes

Weak music for people who would've NEVER gained entrance to 54 or any other club from the past that is trying so desperately to be emulated these days.
Didn't you learn your lesson the first time around? Disco sucks, Zeppelin rules!

I assume REM are headlining. Hope its not the Beasties.
I forgot about the incident in the picture. Still not as sunny as Kanye West crashing that awards show in Europe when his video didnt win.
Posted by Loop | November 14, 2007 10:00 AM
lets just all agree that the only legitimate and good music that anyone should ever listen to is
(a) not daft punk
(b) nothing that the williamsburg hipsters would know about
(c) can only be rock (generally of the indie type)
nothing else should ever be promoted, listened to, bought, considered, etc...
certainly, if (by accident) you attend a show of something that isn't on the legit list and have a good time - don't tell anyone about it. we don't want to encourage anyone from straying from the chosen, acceptable kind of stuff that we all love.
Posted by daft punk | November 14, 2007 10:01 AM
But seriously... enough of the arguing....
what time does Daft Punk go on?
Posted by rocked the shit | November 14, 2007 10:29 AM
REM and the Beasties will probably play at the same time
Posted by Anonymous | November 14, 2007 11:33 AM

Have to agree with the Daft Punk doubters. Every time I try to get someone to clarify why seeing them live is such an earth-moving experience, the discussion tends to go like this:
Me: "So what was so great about their music?"
Them: "They're like...robots."
Me: "Okay, but that has nothing to do with the music."
Them: "Yeah, but, they came out of the top of a giant pyramid."
Me: "Oay, but that has nothing to do with...oh, forget it."
