Scott Kannberg, J. Mascis.... in order to stay somewhat relevant they need to hang with no talent douchebags?

Did Kannberg play with BSS at the Burlington VT show last night at UVM?

They're hanging with you tonight? I was hoping they'd be at the show...

while i admit this is making me reconsider, $25 is still kind of lame for them simply playing his solo album, as much as i enjoy it.

they play both BSS & Kevin Drew stuff. I just saw them 2 nights ago. it was incredible... but not as much fun as this show was 2 years ago.

hey, man, kevin's tickets aren't selling, let's invite emily to come along, that'll help!

I wonder how many more tickets have been sold now that some of the "guests" have been announced.

$25 to hear "Spirit If" is kinda lame i agree. i'd love to hear how the previous shows were, setlist, how many BSS songs were played...

Is that guy going to be there thrusting his basscock in the air all night?
Those guys are a bunch of hirsute fratboys.

I can't wait either!
We'll be the ones showing that they're having fun, as opposed to standing there like lemons. We're Europeans :)

wow last night's show was just incredible....they played for almost 2hr 30 mins!!!! incredible show....definitely the best show of the year!

Oh my god las night's show blew me the hell away! I cam expecting a half-assed show with all new material, and man was I wrong. It appeared that a piece of equipment central to the show would not work and so they had to scrap the scripted plan. They all jammed out so hard i couldn't stop smiling. Not at all like the reviews from other shows previously that I read, and Emily Haines even came out. Wow is all i can say. I think that was just the perfect show, and so spontaneous that you really heard each musicians' soul in their playing. This one will stay with me for a while!

was OK. Emily was good. and cute. Maybe I was too tired for an almost 3 hr set. Last time seemed better.

The Pavement cut was "Elevate me Later," right?

i love the kevin drew album.. and love broken social scene even more, but even i went in with not the highest of expectations. and it was 25 times better than i thought it would be. had to be at least 50-50 in terms of drew vs. bss songs. so much fun.

That was a huge show. Lots of stops and starts, but great guitars, great crowd, great "Kennel District," great Emily, great "Cause Time," great Drew songs, great everything.

Anyone have the set list?
Posted by me | November 15, 2007 1:30 PM
a budget, out of order set list i'm pretty sure is right:
KD cuts:
farewell to the pressure kids
tbtf
fukt up kids
safety bricks
lucky ones
gang bang suicide
frightening lives
back out on the...
when it begins
BSS tracks:
cause = time
stars and sons
superconnected
almost crimes
shoreline
anthems for a 17 yr old girl
major label debut (rockin' version)
it's all gonna break
plus 1 american analog set cut, 1 brendan canning cut from his upcoming solo disc and pavement's "kennel district."

"Kennel District" really made me think the Pavement reunion gig should happen sooner rather than later. They should get Drew to play drums, since he sounded better on "Kennel District" than West ever did.

Good show...Emily stole it in my opinion. The Broken Social Scene stuff sounded great, but the Kevin Drew songs are a real work in progress live. Can't believe they opened with Lucky Ones...huge mistake. Its one of his best songs and the bands timing was off, especially Scott's attempt at a guitar solo. Yikes.
They made up for it though. The 2nd half was well executed. Pressure Kids and Anthem are great live....G
