Dear Friends,After 10 years of making music as The Blood Brothers, we have made the collective decision that our time together has come to an end. We feel extremely fortunate to have spent such a deeply memorable and amazing part of our lives with each other. At this point, however, we feel it's best that our futures move forward on separate paths. We'd like to express our sincerest thanks and gratitude to all the bands we've played with, individuals who have helped us make our records, and fans who have come to our shows and picked up our music throughout the years. Your friendship, support and love hold such a profoundly special place in each of our hearts. We hope that the memories you attach to our music are as fond as those you have given us. Thank you and take care, we'll miss all of you.
Love,
The Blood Brothers

if only they had done a farewell show (or even tour) to give them the possible send-off they deserved.

Booya! Information succeeds!
But is very, very upset about this turn of events.
I have an inside source with the band and the break up is only because the drummer and singer want to continue with Neon Blonde, or so I've been told.

love this band. put out some really solid albums. though i think their prime has passed, so maybe this is the best for everyone.

Didn't they say a few months back that they weren't breaking up?
I think that when a band says, "We are on hiatus, but have no plans to break up," that it means they are breaking up.

that sucks. well, atleast i have my 13-year-old-attempt at being hardcore pre-teen memories.

They had one good song, so cheers to them. At least they were actually a post-hardcore band, and not some shitty metalcore rehash usurping death metal imagery (looking at you, Myspace "grindcore" bands)

finally! when your pants constrict your penis for 10 years, it also constricts your view of yourself. someone must've been sporting some sweatpants and got hit with a mirror image.

Thank god. This band should have never started. Now we can wait for the equally as terrible new bands that will surely spawn.

how long were they on a major label?
Electralane recently went on indefinite hiatus.
I think that's a better term for a band to use.
I mean the Pixies never broke up they went on "Indefinite Hiatus"
Dinosaur Jr. "IH"
Iggy and the Stooges "IH"
Gang of Four
Mission of Burma
My Bloody Valentine
Jesus and Mary Chain
who else?

Fugazi and Sleater-Kinney are also on an "indefinite hiatus".
