What's going on Tuesday? (Drug Rug residency)

DOWNLOAD: Drug Rug - Day I Die (MP3)

Drug Rug @ Pianos, NYC (BV CMJ) - Oct 20, 2007 (CRED - Leia Jospe)
Drug Rug @ Pianos

Drug Rug stars Sarah Cronin and Thomas Allen, young residents of Cambridge, Massachusetts, who began their band and romantic relationship with uncommon synchronicity. The couple claims that on their very first date, they sat in bed, playing songs and drinking whiskey. Their music is suitably hazy—they are, after all, named after a poncho—yet the essence of this band lies not in the fuzzed out guitars or acid-folk trimmings but rather the tight rapport between the two singers. That crazy dead head Phil Lesh is still holding his marathon at the Nokia. Last night saw another show with birthday boy Ryan Adams sitting in for set 3 with the music not stopping until 1am! Phil is on, the band is on, and Ryan was on last night! Plus Steve Berlin in set 1 on sax. Maybe an acoustic set tonight and who knows what other surprises throughout the week. Last night set times were 8:35pm until almost 9:55pm, then 10:35 until 1am. Better hydrate....

Most of the writing in Time Out just makes me cringe. It'd be great if they ever decided to hire writers who've been out of college more than a year or two....
