Alternative-folk music group, Thao Nguyen and The Get Down Stay Down, consists of Thao Nguyen (vocals, guitar), Frank Stewart (lead guitar, producer), Adam Thompson (Bassist), and Willis Thompson (drummer). Managed by Slim Moon, former president of the Kill Rock Stars label, the band is garnering much attention. After sending Like the Linen to Laura Veirs, Thao was able to get connected to Tucker Martine, Veirs' drummer and producer for The Decemberists and Sufjan Stevens. i'm really pissed i can't make either of the mount eerie shows. Then again my friend said he saw him last year, and he was drunk. He said it was terribe. I'd still of liked to go... i wanna know how it went!

I saw Thao last night. Sucked that her set was at 11:30. Joe's Pub was pretty sparse that night. I can see what Slim Moon sees in her though, you don't expect a voice to sing like that coming from that small body.
