She's not exactly a new member of the New Pornographers, she participated in the recording of their previous album, 2005's "Twin Cinema."

Idiots. Immaculate Machine has been around for a while and they are very, very good. And Kathryn has not replaced Neko in the New Pornos - she is there in addition to Neko and sings Neko's parts when Neko doesn't want to be there.

I think kathryn has a great voice when I caught them on tour with belle and sebastian 2 years ago. Neko wasn't all that hot when I caught them at bowery so you people's should just chill.

Think what you want about Immaculate Machine, but adding Kathryn to the NP’s lineup make total sense. While she could never duplicate Neko’s voice, but she does a more than adequate job of covering Neko’s parts in her absence. Also check out Kathryn’s harmony on ‘Execution Day’ from the live CD. Soooo good.

I'd go see Immaculate Machine tonight but Cake Shop is tiny and I'm afraid it'll be too crowded because a lot of (other) NP fans will be there.

anony-mouse 9:25 shouldn't assume that anony-mouse 12:17 is a guy. lame-o. and by the way cake shop sucks almost just as much as immaculate machine (or as you like to call them immacuate machine - apparently you're not that adequate at spelling. poor poor anony-mouse 9:25). the acoustics at cake shop make everyone sound like they're singing in a cave, which actually might have boded well for immaculate machine because that's exactly where they belong.
