the Hall of Fame has become a joke....
I should not even say become...is ...and has been
think about Rush for a second. Ask any musician/critic/fan about the sheer talent in those three. Written a ton of incredible music, 25 plus albums, had hits...and sell boatloads of tickets even to this day. They are Canada!
add to the that the genius of YES, Genesis, and friggin Stevie Ray!!!
it all just disgusts me

The fan website voters are as dumb as the Hall voters. Look how far down you have to go for the Stooges, Roxy, and the Cure. If they can't find a place for them, forget about Mott's influence, too. And any punks who didn't sell millions, either. The fact is that the Hall's choice aren't awful artists--they just make no sense when you see the big-selling, big-influence artists left off.

The inductees who got in this year are all well deserving.
My concern is that the R&R HOF voters are ignoring the early heavy metal bands, who have been very infleuntial, and more importantl;y, are among the best musicians one will ever see. These include Iron Maiden, Kiss, Judas Priest, and even Anthrax (although they may not have reached 25 years yet but were really the first rap-rock band).
Rush should absolutely be in there as well.

How is Alice Cooper not in the Hall yet?

@ Loop
KISS are anything but good musicians. Their ability to market themselves was overwhelming, but their popularity was never based on their music.
if anything, they belong in the advertising hall of fame

In light of the revelations yesterday about rampant drug use among the top performers, new questions about Hall egilibilty have been raised.
In keeping with the crusading spirit of the times, it will shortly be announced that entire roster of inductees into the R&R Hall of Fame have been banned for using performance enhancing drugs.

1:22 = genius.
the Dave Clark Five's induction is good news for the Rascals and the Lovin' Spoonful, who are now no longer the R&RHOF's most laughable members.
Luis Tiant for the Baseball Hall of Fame. Now more than ever.

I thought the Sex Pistols were the most laughable members
