Robert Christgau's entire Best of 2007 list can be found at Slate. Gogol Bordello can be found at Terminal 5 in NYC on New Years Eve. I'm giving away a pair of tickets. To win, email BVCONTESTS@HOTMAIL.COM (subject: Gogol). Include your first and last name and your favorite album of the year. I'll pick one winner at random and contact them.

P.S. Rolling Stone also thinks M.I.A. put out the best album of the year. SPIN says it was Against Me!

Hah, I suppose Against Me needs the publicity. They need all the MTV fans after alienating their original fanbase.

the last few months were such a nice, long break from idiotic christgau news.

Remember when Against Me wrote "Beginning In An Ending?" Yeah, me neither.

Remember when Against me wrote Reinventing axl rose?

Our arena just basements
and bookstores across an underground America
With this fire we could light
Just gimme a scene where the music is free
And the beer is not the life of the party
There's no need to shit talk or impress

They screwed over everyone who took them to the top

Christgau is a schmuck.

Christgau is one of those guys who complains nothing interesting happened in music since 1977, right? Well no wonder look at what he listens to!

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2007 12:41 PM

Christgau rarely complains, that Against Me! record is terrific, and yeah Jose Gonzalez is Swedish. Christ, we've seen more insightful commentary on YouTube.
