another friggin' terminal 5 gig? the nyc live scene for moderately successful bands is dying. a. painful. death.
sad when you yearn for a show at webster.

I think that cavern will serve EITS quite well actually, and I think especially since they are a band without vocals that they will be able to really fill that room with their epic sound.

The location sucks, but the venue itself is fine if you get a spot you feel comfortable in. Good sightlines. Tons of balcony space. People just like to bitch.

i don't see why people complain about big shows. there is something nice about seeing a band in something larger than a club. while club shows are perfect for dancy bands, a band like explosions would be awesome to see in a big place or a theatre. it would make it all the more epic. i saw arcade fire in 4000 person constitution hall in dc and honestly i think it might have been a better setting to see them than in a small club. the communal vibe of having thousands of people really into it can take a gig to another level.

the crazy fucking donkey?

what the hell is going on in farmingdale these days?

The Crazy Donkey NEVER gets good shows. I'm so surprised this band is playing there. If you hate Terminal 5, go to the Farmingdale show. It's close to the train station, and the place holds about 800 compared to Terminal 5's 3000.

EITS always have and will always benefit from a club that can support a good light show, and Terminal 5 will be just that for them, if nothing else. I love their music on its own but when I saw them at Warsaw it paled in comparison to the other shows where they were actually able to have a formidable lighting setup (Webster and Bowery specifically). The large club thing might suck in theory but, as with anything at T5, the upswing is that it isn't Roseland :P

The Crazy Donkey is nowhere near the train station. You need to take a cab over. The downtown was the only club near it.
