....Beck, Wilco, White Stripes, Kanye West, The Shins, Common & Jay-Z too

Amy Winehouse receives the nomination for Best Record (Mark Ronson), Album of the Year (vs Kanye West), Song of the Year, Best New Artist (vs Feist!), Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (vs Feist!), Best Pop Vocal Album (vs Feist!), and Producer of the Year (Mark Ronson)! I guess it's not weird she was on the cover of the Post.
Is this the Grammys or the Plug Awards?
All (50th annual) Grammy nominations HERE.
Jonathanpberger made the "Spooooky Hallowinehouse" you see above. More like it HERE. His inspiration HERE.
Now Feist has something else to talk about.

Depeche Mode won Best New Artist for "Violator" and REM for "Out of Time" (or whatever it was called), neither of which was even remotely close to being their first album, so Feist is not suprising. Remember: it's not "new" to music or releasing album, it's "new to the charts" or sales or whatever. Anyway, you don't want to win BNA on your first album lest you end up like 'Til Tuesday.

I'm miffed Spoon didn't receive any nominations; they were submitted in four categories.

there are so many "instrumental" categories...i'm really surprised that explosions in the sky wouldn't be nominated. its cool that more "indie" bands are getting attention though. i wonder who is making the nods though because its certainly not the critics (shit like daughtry nominated).

Dude Daughtry fucking ROCKS. How could you say such a thing?

who takes the Grammys seriously anyway? Enough said with all those nominations Amy Winehouse received
Posted by Anonymous | December 6, 2007 3:35 PM
the grammys serve as a method of telling the unimformed music buyer what to go to wally-world and spend their 10$ on, which has been known for a while now. hence in shows (especialy the simpsons) it being a paperweight and jokes of the like.

how the FUCK is plain white tees "Hey There Delilah" nominated as Best Song of the year? It was on their album that was released January 25, 2005. Almost 3 years ago. Music is retarded.

but it was the feel good hit of the summer

I actually think Amy's album maybe the best one of those nominated for best album, but that's besides the point that they only nominated her for so many things to get people talking.
