Screw Hanukkah. We can have a menora displayed at work but we can't have a christmas tree because its offensive and draws complaints. Double standard BS.

can't we all just get along?

Nobody is hating. I'm just saying if we're able to display a menora we should also be able to display a christmas tree. Its the menora people that are the haters. Getting along is having both.

What wack-ass place do you allegedly work in that allegedly allows a menorah but not a Christmas tree?

I work at B & H Photo.

I'm a Jew and I don't give a crap if someone has a Christmas tree. Actually, Christmas trees have nothing to do with JC. They were used in Europe about 500 years before JC was born. Hard to celebrate someone's birthday before they were even born.

"Christmas trees have nothing to do with JC."
That doesn't make any sense. You just called it a "Christ"mas tree.

B&H photo is owned by Hasidic Jews. Why the hell would they display a Christmas tree?
Posted by harry | December 5, 2007 4:17 AM
Well I guess that would be a wack-ass place.

"B&H photo is owned by Hasidic Jews. Why the hell would they display a Christmas tree?"
1. As a retail store and not a house of worship, they might display a Christmas tree to appeal to Christmas shoppers.
2. As a workplace and not a house of worship, conceivably, they might have to allow an employee to set up a Christmas tree if they display a menorah. (I am not a lawyer, so I can't say with any certainty.)
Herschel, if you're not B & S -ing us (har har), you should file a complaint with the appropriate government agency.

B&H have already lost one major religion discrimination lawsuit this year, I highly doubt they would put up a menora and not a Xmas tree.

They would probably put up a Xmas tree but not a Christmas tree.

I'm not here to argue.
I'm just here to say "Thanks for the downloads" ~~
and Shalom! XD
