Hot Chip tickets on sale -- DFA Holiday party too
Tickets for the NYC Hot Chip show are on sale. You need the password. The show is at Highline Ballroom where Daniel Johnston is also playing, and where a member of The Clash played just last night. It is unclear which, if any, members of LCD Soundsystem will also be playing with Hot Chip, but it is clear that at least two of them (James Murphy & Pat Mahoney) will be DJing with Juan Maclean, Tim & Tim & Shit Robot at the DFA Holiday Extravaganza @ Studio B on December 14th.

no thanks

murphy and his $7 tickets can just suck it. i'm tired of these greedy bastards making a killing from their fans.

it was only 5 bucks when it went on sale this morning, when did it go up to 7??? weird stuff.
Posted by Anonymous | December 6, 2007 12:31 PM
I got mine for 9 total in processing fees. Not a cool move to raise the price right after.
Posted by Anonymous | December 6, 2007 12:50 PM
Charging $7 has not constituted "making a killing" since 1960...in those days $7 could buy you a round trip ticket to Tahiti with enough change leftover for a sack of potatoes!

I think Studio B gets my vote for most depressing venue in NYC.

25 bucks for hot chip tickets sounds kinda steep. with the good exchange rate these boys ARE making a killing.

are you an idiot?
they get paid in dollars...and then convert the weak dollar to strong pounds...if thats yr idea of making a killing, you need to stop listening to that arcade fire shit and get yr ass to school.

I love Hot Chip. They are the best. Daft Punk are cool, too. I also love love love my old vintage black tight jeans. Maybe I'll wear my new nike's with the tongue out over the jeans. I adore myself and my awesomeness! RAD DOOD!
It is way to easy to commment on this website.

Wow, so many posting on this board are so jaded. And, what about that idiot talking shit about studio b. I saw Erol spin there CMJ week for 10 bucks and they through in justice for free...Studio B is not depressing, it's more like a lifeline.

Hot Chip is great and I've heard they are outstanding live, been waiting to see them for a while. I will be in the front row of this one.

i'm not an idiot. I could just do without the guest list lines, 9 dollar drinks, euro trash vibe, and the coke den bathrooms.
Posted by Anonymous | December 7, 2007 3:24 PM
what, as opposed to the manhattan clubs with bridge and tunnel guidos, 14 dollar drinks and coke den bathrooms?
studio b is saving new york's electronic music scene. and it's a great place to see bands as well.
you are an idiot

Hot Chip will break your legs and is sold out
Posted by anonymous | December 8, 2007 1:08 PM
tonight will be fun times
Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2007 12:01 PM
why are there so many people whining about ticket prices? is it because the trust fund doesn't kick in till you are 25?
Posted by anonymous | December 14, 2007 3:47 PM
i agree that studio b can b pretty depressing.
although i have seen really good bands there and never had to pay much money, soooooo mayb i shouldnt complain.

Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2007 1:49 PM
Looked like a sausage fest to me
Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2007 1:57 PM
people were dancing. it was funky.
Posted by jason | December 15, 2007 2:26 PM
I woke up super-bummed I didn't make it out to Studio B last night as I love the DFA camp's mad DJ skills but yikes...judging from Jason's pictures, it sure seems like a lot of ladies also decided not to show up.
Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2007 3:47 PM
i left around 1:15am after being there since 11 so i dont know if it got any more female oriented later on. seemed like a decent mix from when i was there and walking around though.
