Thanks for posting the setlist here (and thanks Jesse). My recording came out quite excellent, and after some minor post-production it should be up on my site later tonight.
The Dylan cover was amazing--obscure Highway 61 outtake that until recently had only appeared on bootlegs.
Ira was absolutely out of his mind last night, shredding nearly every song. "Heard" was epic.

I don't think that was Peter Holsapple on organ on I Heard You Looking last night? The guy on organ had blonde hair - and I don't think Peter Holsapple is blond? I don't think I saw PH come up during the encores???

It definitely wasn't Holsapple, who is tall and has shaved his head. Peter didn't perform at all with YLT last night.

Anyone know the name of the blonde guy? He looked familiar.

That is my favorite Beat Happening song!

What a night.

what are the mix discs? something that is for sale?

Posted by Anonymous | December 7, 2007 12:47 PM

anonymous 12:47 -

Yes, each night there is a mix CD-R for sale, with a ten dollar price (I believe the money goes to the charity each show is supporting, but I am not sure).

The first night, Tuesday, the mix CD-R was compiled by Matmos. Between sets, the sound guy played the mix for the audience that night. I bought a copy of the Matmos mix - this one was one 54-and-change minute track (so, no seperation of the cuts), with each cut faded out as the next one is faded in.

I think the blonde guy on organ is a YLT tech or something. He was working the merch booth for a lot of the evening.

Mirman's jokes about Internet ads were funny as hell. That was an insanely great night of fun and entertainment.

Does anyone know who the opener is for YLT on Saturday?

From Ira's online diary:

"tour manager extraordinaire Joe put down his cricket bat and played Ace Tone on "I Heard You Looking.""

Does anyone know who the openers for tonights show are???

Who is the comedian gonna be on Saturday night?

Posted by scrod | December 7, 2007 3:32 PM

hey james - any chance you could upload a rip of that matmos mix? i am a huge fan of theirs and i'm dying to hear it. i love YLT as well, but i never pegged them as matmos fans - going to monday's show, and i'm excited to see what they have lined up.

last time they did this, i ended up w/ mixes from gary panter and small change - both excellent. sadly i missed the night with a cornelius mix.
