Kim Deal doesn't want to

Kim Deal

When Rock Daily spoke with Breeders leader and Pixies bassist Kim Deal recently about the Breeders’ April 8th album Mountain Battles, Deal didn’t shy away from talk of a new Pixies record: She says there won’t be one (with her on bass, at least). “Helll no,” she says. “Because I don’t want to.” [Rolling Stone]

She's just holding out for more money.

no she is making a good decision. if there is no chemistry don;t force it.

good for her

she's a pain in the ass (so is Frank Black) - the other two guys would probably love to record.

If you read the article, she actually says the chemistry is spot on. That is not the reason she is saying this now. She just thinks bands that are old should not try to recreate on record the good old days or some shit for that matter,. She goes on to say she likes doing the tours and that they will still do that. Kim has always been sort of a wack job so you cannot really bank on anything she has to say as being set in stone.

am i only one in world who actually like "bam thwok"?

Bam Thwok is a cute track. Although, it sounds more like a Breeders B-Side than a Pixies song.

And I meant pain in the ass in the most loving way - I just really want another Pixies record... also, Joey Santiago and David Lovering are the 'other two'.

Fuck man, Kim Deal and Frank Black are the other two. Hit 'dem skins Davey!

Who are the "other two"? You couldn't find out for yourself? Ever hear of the interwebs?

Besides, Pixies - most overrated band ever.

Thank you Kim. Good call. Gotta be tough to turn down some sure scratch. I don't think I could do it if I were in her position.

Joey Santiago and David Lovering should do their own project and throw in a few Pixies tunes. I'll sing! The Pixies would not have been the Pixies without those two (especially Santiago).

A new Pixies album is bound to be underwhelming. I'm glad they're not gonna do it.

I have had fond memories of childhood destroyed by reunion tours and 'just like the old days' re-releases. The Pixies are doing what every great entertainer has done... Quit while they are ahead... Except for Black Francis. Someone send him a snail mail reminder.
