Lou Reed To Keynote SXSW, White Williams signs to Domino
Both of these pieces of news are related to SXSW. Obviously the Lou Reed one is....
The South By Southwest Music Conference and Film Festival are pleased to announce that Lou Reed will be the keynote speaker for 2008. Reed’s keynote will be held in conjunction with a screening of Julian Schnabel’s film “Lou Reed’s ‘Berlin,’” which documents a recent performance of the landmark 1973 album.And the White Williams one is because...
A longtime presence at SXSW, the London based label (Domino) has announced that they will be presenting The Kills, White Williams, Lightspeed Champion, Sons & Daughters and These New Puritans all in one night on one special Domino Records Showcase!SXSW music is March 12-16, 2008 in Austin, TX. White Williams' next NYC show is February 10th @ Studio B. One of his last NYC shows was at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Lou Reed performed "Berlin" in Brooklyn in December 2006.

The subject of Lou's keynote address will be how to have a successful music career and gain cultural icon status by repackaging the same collection of songs every other year for three decades.
