The Fiery Furnaces are kicking off a January tour at Maxwell's in Hoboken on January 17th - their first scheduled NYC-area appearance of 2008. According to NYCTaper, their December 8th Brooklyn show was their 8th NYC-area appearance in 2007. Can't complain about that. All tour dates below....

6. October at Sound Fix (in store)

8. December at Music Hall

The January 17 date at Maxwell's might be a seriously important date to see them if you're a fan...before its too late:

once i saw eleanor outside a fiery furnaces show that turned out to be 21+ while i am 21-. i should've started talking to the bouncer as she walked in to see if she would've taken pity or walked by awkwardly. either way it would have been cool. anyway widow city is awesome.

Very sad piece of news for the Furnaces. Olga Sarantos passed away. She was Matt and Eleanor's grandmother who was featured to excellently on Rehearsing My Choir.
