Anon @ 2:42,
I was also suspicious of TMSR until I saw them at BV's CMJ showcase @ the Bowery.
The tracks on the album come through as confused and a little repetitive but their live set is much tighter and layered than I expected.
I'm looking forward to hearing them @ Mercury Lounge this time.

Anon. 3:51,

I saw them live at Union Hall and they just sucked. I thought their recorded stuff sounds much better.

saw them at merc lounge last time they came through and they rocked. perfect mix of tunes from their two full lengths and the phages ep

Union Hall is a terrible place to see bands that play loud. The Bowery show was a-ma-zing. Possibly the highlight of CMJ. I will be going to both of these, thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, this band puts on a downright irritating live show. Pots and pans are involved, quality and restraint are not.

Saw them at The Salt Lounge (London, ON) about a month ago. They had a great sound and an even better presence onstage - their new tunes are really good (check out "Sherry's Butterfly Net" on their myspace).

Are all of you kidding me?? I saw this band and it was nothing but a cacophony... terrible. Occasionally when the one female in the group sang, it wasn't painful to bear, but the rest of the time it blew. Who gave these people instruments? What is wrong with this God awful music scene??!!
