Tickets are on pre-sale for some shows by The Pogues (regular sale starts Thursday). Now an annual tradition, the Irish (and English) band will be in NYC for St. Patrick's day, although currently they're only scheduled to play two shows at Roseland Ballroom on the two days before March 17th. It is very possible of course that they'll end up adding a third show on the actual day (if not more than that). That would still leave them plenty of time to make it to their next show in Boston which is on March 19th.

Unfortunately, these shows will probably be without guitarist Philip Chevron, who - sadly, is on hiatus to fight throat cancer right now. All dates below....

The Pogues - 2007/8 Tour Dates
Dec 18: Brixton Academy with: The Holloways
Dec 19: Brixton Academy with: The Holloways
Dec 22: Belfast King's Hall with: LaFaro
Dec 23: Dublin RDS Main Hall with: Blood Or Whiskey
March 5: Chicago, IL Riviera Theatre
March 6: Chicago, IL Riviera Theatre
March 9: Washington, DC 9:30 Club
March 12: Baltimore, MD Rams Head
March 15: New York NY Roseland Ballroom
March 16: New York NY Roseland Ballroom
March 19: Boston, MA Orpheum

Ouch. $65 per ticket.
Saturday the 15th presale is sold out, while Sunday the 16th still has tickets. No presale for the 17th on their site.

I went to the St.Patrick's Day show last year and it was amazing! Everyone singing and throwing cups of beer in the air! Great time..Shane should be without a wheelchair this time.

They will probably be putting the 17th on sale after the first 2 sell out because obviously the 17th is the one most wanted. I am waiting.

And it looks like Phillip is doing much better and will be on the tour.

i've gone the past two years and they're great times! also, the paddy's day shows are usually 10$ more a ticket, so perhaps they're settling out the finances and such.

Here's the link to the Pogues news about the 17th. It's from the Pogues Message board from pogues.com which has frequent contributions from Phil Cheveron.

Sorry for not including it before.
