The Rapture DJing @ Music Hall, Brooklyn, NY - Dec 13, 2007 (CRED)
The Rapture DJs

It's been a hell of a week for dancing...This week started off with a crushing Justice set and will end with a sweaty DFA disco affair at Studio B. More below...

TONIGHT (12/14)

DFAAfter you catch Dan Le Sac & Scroobius Pip at Mercury Lounge, head to Studio B. DFA gets busy with the whole family (minus a few of the new kids) tonight and it's all about the D-I-S-C-O.

James Murphy and Pat Mahoney gang up on the decks (heard their Fabric mix yet? Its good), Tim Sweeney and Tim Goldsworthy do their T&T DJ thing (download a mix here), Juan Maclean is back in town to DJ, and Shit Robot is in from Scotland. DFA does it right.

Elsewhere, disco rules the night: Citizen Kane and Darshan Jeshrani (from Metro Area) throw the Strobelodge loft party and My Cousin Roy is at 205.

Since I did it last weekend: I know that going to Studio B two nights in a row is great for your health and I'm going to reccomend you try it this weekend.

Saturday (12/15)

Jason JinxBo selecta...Its gonna be a little bit old school at Joy 2007 -- A Holiday Food Drive For City Harvest

Turtablist/Jungalist DJ Craze headlines the night, but I'm more excited to see DB & Jason Jinx do an old school NASA throwdown. After catching Laurent Garnier at Cielo, I've been listening to a lot of drum & bass.

Nigel Richards, DJ Ayres and Lauren Flax join in on deck duty with a bunch of others. Its for a great cause and should be a lot of fun.

----

The full dance run down is coming early next week. I'll talk about People Don't Dance No More's 1-year anniversary, New Years Eve @ Studio B, and more.

hey david, i love the column but don't forget about nyc techno! the bunker's still going strong - last night was ryan crosson, they recently had the jawdroppingly awesome galoppierende zuversicht from switzerland, and next weekend's a wolf + lamb special. and if my info is correct, tonight paul ritch is playing minimoo, which should be retardedly good. there's plenty of good underground house & techno going on in the city, it's not all disco + DFA! all the best, philip
