a venue in Long Island City, a CD from the frontman of Saturday Looks Good To Me, a show
DOWNLOAD: Fred Thomas - Last One (MP3)

The Creek and the Cave is a venue to see live music in Long Island City. You can find it on our venue map.
Fred Thomas is the singer of Saturday Looks Good To Me. They came out with a good album in 2007. That's them/him im the picture above playing the BrooklynVegan day party at R Bar during CMJ 2007. More pictures like that HERE.
Fred also has a new solo CD out. It's out on Magic Marker Records, and called FLOOD. All I've heard so far is the track streaming at his MySpace, and the one I have linked for download at the top of this post.
TONIGHT: Catch Fred Thomas live, at The Creek and the Cave. It's the album release show, and Brandon says it shoud be a blast.

Get there early! It's an intimate space! Creaky Boards and The Beets also play.

The venue has comedy sometimes, too. Will Franken is supposed to be at The Creek and The Cave on Jan 16.

I've been there before. It's awesome - a bit tight but good atmosphere.

Seriously. Must be a bot. That shitty website is for Long Island anyway, not LIC.
Speaking of LIC, though, Todd P and others are doing shows at a new venue there starting this weekend called The Jackson... Child Abuse plays friday, My Teenage Stride Saturday. It may or may not actually be in a weird steakhouse.

That's what The Jackson is? LIC is a great hood, but needs more rock venues. The Creek is nice but last I visited they seemed to host mostly lite FM stuff/spoken word/comedy.

The Creek is mostly comedy stuff now. Had noise issues with neighbors a year ago so don't do shows in the theater anymore really.
The Jackson is gonna be awesome. Big stage, bar, ~200 capacity?
