Benevento-Russo Duo opening for Cornelius

Benevento/Russo Duo are opening for Cornelius tonight (Jan 25) in DC, and tomorrow at Webster Hall (tix still available). Benevento is also in the midst of a month-long residency at Sullivan Hall. The next and last show is January 31st. Kaki King was a special guest at last night's show. More dates at their site.

awesome musician - associated with the whole jam-band scene, but is much more interesting and fun than all those grateful dead/phish wannabees

Steven Bernstein will be playing with him at Sulli hall as well. He's in the slide trumpet scene but not like those pricks you usually associate with slide trumpets.

The shows have been getting progressively more crowded, and this past Thursday sold out. So if you want to see the final night of the residency next Thursday, I'd suggest getting your tickets now. A bunch of people got turned away this past week. If anyone's interested in reviews of the first three weeks (of four so far), a good man named Neddy has been reviewing them all (he, sadly, got turned away from this past one, so no review):
