Delta Spirit & The Duke Spirit
I was just looking for Delta Spirit NYC tour dates, and was totally confused until I finally realized there is a DUKE Spirit, and a DELTA Spirit. The Duke one is from the UK, playing Mercury Lounge on February 13th, playung Union Hall the day after that, and then SXSW. The Delta one is touring the West Coast, will probably be at SXSW, and will definitely be at Noise Pop. All tour dates below....

Duke Spirit are GREAT live. Very charismatic front woman. They had a record out in the UK a few years ago that got a lot of buzz in the NME, then record company problems developed and now they finally have something new out. It's getting great reviews in the UK, FWIW. Their first CD was so-so.

Caught these guys when they opened for Tokyo Police Club/Cold War Kids, definately not a forgettable band.

The Duke Spirit is the best band out of the UK. Imagine, Nico fronting a Jesus and Marychain cover band and you kinda know where this is going. New album rips SO hard!
I'd get their first album on import with extra b-sides to really see how amazing they are.

Seconded I actually don't know about the Delta Spirit but The Duke Spirit are one of my favourite bands, I first saw them last year when they hadn't played in ages... then suddenly did a free gig in the park 2 minutes away from my house!! at Rise festival. Def go see them!

The delta spirit are from my neck of woods (well a few of them) great band. check them out when they come to New York. Better than the Cold War Kids IMO.
