Be careful anyone going to this. Forget the notrious GBH guest list rsvp bullshit they pull. This is also compounded by notoriously nasty and fucked up door people. They make the Hiro assholes look like angels. Just this past week they refused to let in one of the actors from The Wire to his own cast party. He had a few friends with him which is understandable and they turned him away. Fuckheads. Anyway should make it even harder to actually get in to this show.

i can attest to the door people being total douches.
even when they threw the party at movida, the door people were generally ok.
that said, i'll probably still try to go but with appropriate expectations.

what is the 'notorious GBH guest list rsvp bullshit' you're talking about?

Very good stuff. I prefer this than Battles.

I hope the "hipster beard" look goes away soon. At least a little bit. I really do.

Obviously you either work for them or you have never been to one of their parties

i've never been to one of their parties. i was thinking of going to this tonight but just want to stay clear of drama if there is any.

well since you asked you cheeky bastard, the 'notorious GBH guest list rsvp bullshit' is probably referring to how people rsvp for these shitty thursday night douche fests only to be told they will have to pay entry when they get to the door...and then told the venue is full...and then asked where the girls are...and then made to pay 2 weeks salary for a drink if they finally are let in...and i could go on...

take it away bv commenters!

i've never had a problem with the gbh/going/coming whatever the fuck it is... guest lists. not once. i will admit that the drinks at hiro are insanely priced, but that's why god created flasks.

Two other dates:

Feb 29 - San Francisco - Bottom of the Hill w/ A Place To Bury Strangers

April 25-27 - Coachella Festival

GBH doesn't own Hiro, they promote a party there. It is not up to them to set drink prices at the bar, though they actually always have some sort of special available if you're in the know.

As far as the list, I have never been asked to pay at Hiro, even if I hadn't rsvp'ed.

They can hardly be blamed when people get turned away at things like the Chromeo show. About twice as many people showed up as Hiro could accommodate. If you think something is going to be popular, show up early.

^^^^ Good Job GBH rep. Nice attempt at trying to pass yourself off as an unbiased commenter. NOT.

I checked these guys out in Seattle late last year and they put on one hell of a show. Really cool name too, nice to hear people not influenced by censorship.
