Justice show moved from MSG to smaller Theater... HA

MSG

If there was ever a bad decision that united NYC music fans, it was the one made by Justice to headline The Garden. NOBODY seemed to think it was a good idea, and plenty were offended by the French duo's arrogance. On top of that, they were/are charging over $70 a ticket. This is for a DJ-like duo with basically one album - for music you're supposed to dance to - on a dance floor, not in an arena. Commenters in the initial announcement said things like...

"and we thought interpol was a stretch... oh man, this is.. wow. potentially disastrous might be an understatement."

"There's no way they could headline MSG, right?"

"is led zeppelin opening? that's the only way i could see this show happening."

"who wants to bet this show gets moved to the bowery ballroom?"

"This is hilarious and frightning all at the same time. This shit is actually really getting out of hand."

"That is a fuckin joke. From the Ticket price...to the fact that Justice thinks they can play MSG!!!"

.....and it goes on and on.........and on.

Well, now the joke is on Justice...

JusticeHey everyone!

The venue has changed for New York City. It is now at the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden with doors at 7pm and the show at 8pm. Chromeo is on the New York show only - if you are missing them at the Bowery Ballroom this weekend, then come see them in March.

IMPORTANT - Tickets purchased for the Madison Square Garden will be exchanged for the WaMu show. If you purchased tickets with a credit card will have the new ticket mailed to you. If you purchased through an outlet with cash you will have your tickets exchanged at the door the night of the show.

See you at the show. If you haven't bought tickets for NY do it now before they sell out!!

I'll get right on that.

Oh id say Justice are just kicking themselves.

Wait for all the 'told ya so' retard comments below.

It’s the manager and promoters gig. All this talk of Justice trying to fill Daft Punk's shoes is rubbish. Its Justice's label whose calling the shots. And he is? Oh yeah that’s right, Daft Punks manager.

Posted by Brian | January 23, 2008 9:05 AM

Catch 'em before they sell out kiddies!!

Posted by Les | January 23, 2008 9:08 AM

First play on a pyramid in Central Park. Then, try to sell out the Garden.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 9:13 AM

still 50 bucks? What the fuck.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 9:15 AM

if you're all hyped up on blow and just wanna dance with other sleaze bag hipsters, i guess 50-70 bucks is a "deal".

it'll be like saying you saw fine young cannibals before they got big.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 9:25 AM

and the wamu theater is still a crappy place to see someone like justice.

How the hell are the people at MSG/Ticketmaster/Bowery going to figure out how to translate a seat location at MSG to a seat location at the theater?

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 9:29 AM

Speaking of shitty decisions and practices by Bowery Presents...why must all shows go on sale 3 months before the date of the actual show? Everything in this town is sold out in a few minutes, hours, or days by people pathetically certain that they will have nothing else to do months from now but go see Justice or whoever.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 9:33 AM

good one (re: fine young cannibals)

hahahah!

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 9:37 AM

I saw fine young cannibals AFTER they got big, thank you very much.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 9:43 AM

I still won't go because of the overpriced tickets. They should play a club not a theater.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 9:53 AM

Justice has been served...no?

Posted by ROCK STARchitect | January 23, 2008 9:59 AM

When do you get the banner to promote the show at WAMU?

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 10:00 AM

WAMU - that's my kind of banking institution.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 10:07 AM

now that they've straightened themselves out, can we agree that they still kick ass?

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 10:14 AM

That Knicks quote was priceless!

Posted by brassbonanza | January 23, 2008 10:26 AM

@Anon 10:14

They do, but they also might be over.

>>Speaking of shitty decisions and practices by Bowery Presents...why must all shows go on sale 3 months before the date of the actual show? <<

This is a fairly common practice in the promotion of concerts that happens in all major cities throughout the world for quite awhile now.... it's nothing new nor is it anything specific to Bowery Presents.. its called the "you snooze, you lose policy" get with it , son

Posted by Arnold | January 23, 2008 10:58 AM

is it justice's fault that they were booked into msg?
do you think they get to pick and choose where they play?
not trying to be a prick, i'm just curious.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 11:07 AM

I think Busy P still talks to Justice to see where they would like to play....unless manager has like 100% control of them which I don't think is true

Posted by umm yea | January 23, 2008 11:18 AM

most bands are fairly aware of where they are booked

I'm sure they wouldn't be booked at a massive space like MSG without being asked at least once

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 11:23 AM

regardless, for anyone tired of all the nyc bullshit the boston show at the paradise is gonna be amazing.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 11:31 AM

"If you haven't bought tickets for NY do it now before they sell out!!" Right, let me get my ticket right now.

Posted by Eduardo Osorio | January 23, 2008 11:38 AM

paradise capacity=650

MSG=20K

wtf

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 11:40 AM

"regardless, for anyone tired of all the nyc bullshit the boston show at the paradise is gonna be amazing."

pfft.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 11:40 AM

when it comes to dance acts, the size of the venue really doesnt matter. all you need is a massive dance floor.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 11:42 AM

What.."American Fries"...yup, love those frenchies!

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 11:45 AM

Good work, Bowery.

Who are you booking at MSG next? The National?

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 11:58 AM

Well, a lot of people guessed they'd play the Morrissey card, saying they'd downgrade the venue and such.

What Justice should really fucking do to redeem themselves is announce another date in NYC at an even smaller venue. Remember Terminal 5 had TWO JUSTICE SHOWS? They overbooked the latter one, and it was wonderful yet chaotic...now it seems like they want to fill the floor and leave the rest of the place unattended to.

NO ONE WILL BUY SEATED TICKETS. Buying seated tickets at a dance show is RIDICULOUS. Why, Justice, must you dig yourselves in this hole? This isn't a matter of arrogance, this is a matter of ignorance. You are ignoring your fans in NYC, by playing venues that are 2-3 times smaller than MSG everywhere besides here.

Fuck, guys. Play Terminal 5, Webster, fuck...even MHOW, just work this shit out and make it up to your fans and make this a fair event.

It's either that or your asses are going to have to step up and do 5 NY dates and APW.

Until then, you'll be doing the D.A.N.C.E. yourselves, I'm boycotting going to this show.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 12:16 PM

Oh, and The Bowery Presents is just moronic to support an MSG show for people who can sellout a 3500 max capacity venue.

Why not try the Apollo Theater?

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 12:17 PM

anon 12:16pm:

people bought seated tickets for Daft Punk.

Posted by jason | January 23, 2008 12:22 PM

It wasn't really seated, it was BOWL seats, any place you want to be in the bleachers, standing for the WHOLE show...I know, because I was there...except front and center in the Floor section. But everyone was up by the time Sebastian/Kavinsky started their set.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 12:26 PM

"Good work, Bowery.

I believe they (Bowery) are booking the Foo Fighters next.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 12:44 PM

"Well, a lot of people guessed they'd play the Morrissey card, saying they'd downgrade the venue and such."

Except Morrissey cancelled due to illness and didn't reschedule, so the ONLY similarity between his date at MSG and Justice's is that ticket sales were disappointing.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 1:36 PM

Please explain why this is the case? Money?

Either way, it's gay, and is reflected in the douchey audiences most NYC shows attract.

Justice is lost
Justice is raped
Justice is gone
Pulling your strings
Justice is done
Seeking no truth
Winning is all
Find it so grim, So true, so real

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 2:45 PM

actually its going to be Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manuel de Homem Christo dressed in all black leather playing their own songs and you all will have wished you paid 50 dollars for it.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 6:49 PM

Justice has the inside front/back page of this week's Village Voice to advertise the new, improved show....

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2008 9:59 PM

MADISON SQUARE GARDEN LOSES CREDIBILITY WHEN THEY BOOK THESE GUYS AND NOT ME, KANYE WEST!!! YOU ALL LOSE CREDIBILITY!!! YOU ALL GET WHAT YOU DESERVE WHEN YOU PAY $50 GO TO SEE 2 GUYS STAND BEHIND COMPUTERS FOR 2 HOURS, YOU GET COPYCAT GROUPS! I'M OUT!

Morrisey was not SICK! If you believe that you're a fool. He couldn't sell enough tix. That was the only reason. And then he rebooked a few months later at Hammerstein and then had to lower the ticket prices. They were almost begging people to go...

I <3 Justice but they were nuts thinking they would sell a show like this at a cost like that.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2008 8:14 PM

Ed Banger was born and always belongs in the small intimate venues.

Posted by Ed D | February 1, 2008 8:17 PM

has anyone gotten their replacement tix yet?

Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2008 8:06 PM

OK wtf? I bought GA standing tix for MSG. Ive never been there, but thought it was a HUGE venue. I figured that Justice had become very popular and the show will be Sickness. So what does this venue change really mean in terms of the experience? BTW, I saw Daft Punk at Keyspan in Brooklyn and was lookin to relive or something similar.

Posted by Anonymous | March 3, 2008 8:42 AM

I rather spend my money on a hockey game at MSG than go see these cunts perform. Pretentious at its best *sleeps*
