Largehearted Boy's Interesting CD Releases This Week

Vampire WeekendVampire Weekend's self-titled debut album has been getting much deserved love from blogs and mainstream media alike. It sees its US release tomorrow.

Death Cab for Cutie's Chris Walla also releases his much-anticipated solo album, Field Manual. Other albums I can strongly recommend is the Helio Sequence's excellent Keep Your Eyes Open, Ida's Lovers Prayers, Jeffrey Lewis's 12 Crass Songs, Thao's We Brave Bee Stings and All, and Xiu Xiu's Women As Lovers

Interesting reissues include a two-disc deluxe remastered edition of Beck's Odelay along with six remastered Van Morrison albums, each with bonus tracks.

What new releases you picking up this week? What can you recommend? Have I left anything worthwhile off the list?

why bother tagging these as being released on CD format...seems a little obvious. it would be helpful if you would also list LP format for the ones that also have been released in that format. Joe Jackson is definitley available as an LP. Radar Bros., xiu xiu and Ida could be too.

allmusic's review of the Shelby Lynne album, which is a tribute to Dusty Springfield, is notably adulatory.
