"Live Nation Extends Exclusive Multi-Year Booking Agreement with Roseland Ballroom"

LIVE NATION EXTENDS EXCLUSIVE MULTI-YEAR BOOKING AGREEMENT WITH ROSELAND BALLROOMVows To Bring More Of The Biggest And Brightest Live Music Stars
To New York City's Legendary Venue
New York NY, January 23, 2008- Live Nation (NYSE: LYV), the world's largest live music company, announced today that it has extended its exclusive music booking agreement at the Roseland Ballroom, New York's premiere mid-sized venue located in midtown Manhattan, through 2010. Live Nation New York expects to take the venue to new heights over the next three years."Roseland Ballroom is a core link in our New York structure," said Kevin Morrow, President of Live Nation New York. "Its 3,500 person capacity in midtown Manhattan fits perfectly between our smaller clubs such as Blender Theater At Gramercy or The Fillmore New York At Irving Plaza and large amphitheaters such as Nikon At Jones Beach Theater or PNC Bank Arts Center. Roseland Ballroom gives us the opportunity to build artist careers and help grow them within the Live Nation organization in this key market. We are also able to bring musical legends to New York City in a unique and intimate setting. A play at Roseland Ballroom is a poignant moment in an artist's career and we are glad to have this venue serve as an integral piece of the puzzle that completes our overall structure in New York City."
The booking agreement strengthens the dynamic relationship that began with the legendary venue and Ron Delsener Presents over 16 years ago. Together Live Nation and Roseland Ballroom have hosted some of the biggest names in music including The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Madonna, Bob Dylan, Nirvana, James Brown, AC/DC, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, and Justin Timberlake. On average, the Roseland Ballroom stage welcomes an average of 40 concerts and events from major artists each year produced and promoted by Live Nation, which the company expects to increase this year.
Larry Ginsberg, owner of Roseland Ballroom commented, "We are proud to be the longest running rock couple bringing the largest musical acts to Broadway. Roseland and Live Nation will continue our musical engagement, 16 years and counting, with a new multi-year contract."
With Roseland Ballroom's prime midtown Manhattan location, easy accessibility by mass transit, state of the art sound system, excellent sight lines, convenient full bar and experienced staff paired with Live Nation's unparalleled ability to deliver the most requested and most popular live shows, this venue will guarantee music fans the ultimate concert experience in New York City for years to come.

Terminal 5 is way better than Roseland. Please tell me why Terminal 5 is worse than Roseland? A little secret...Roselands upstairs is not a bad place to see the show.

Terminal 5 > Hammerstein > Roseland

Highline Ballroom is easily the worst venue, though Roseland is not that far behind.

Why is highline ballroom so bad? I haven't had any problems there. Are you sure you aren't mixing it up with Hiro Ballroom?

The bar staff at Roseland are good! What are you talking about? It's been the same staff for many many years. I always get my drinks from the guy with the guido mustache. I don't know who he is, but he is always nice and has been there for easily ten years.
The sound at Roseland is only good upfront. It's downright terrible in the back under the overhang. But the layout is good. The balconies are Terminal 5 are worthless, only the people in front can see.
Hammerstein > Roseland > Terminal 5

let's play a game:
"Together Live Nation and Roseland Ballroom have hosted some of the biggest names in music including The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Madonna, Bob Dylan, Nirvana, James Brown, AC/DC, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, and Justin Timberlake."
who doesn't belong in this list?
Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2008 2:27 PM
Those are all pretty big names even if you don't like the bands or artist.

The balconies at Roseland are even worse. You can't see through them. only the people at the front can see there too...

ok Roseland and Hammerstein have better sound than Interminable 5. The sightlines are better at both of them as well. None of them are Bowery Ballroom unfortunately. And who is the schmuck who keeps complaining about Highline. It is a great place to see a show.
Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2008 3:17 PM
I agree - Highline isn't perfect, but it's not a bad venue. Not every show can be at Bowery Ballroom.

Except that Roseland doesn't allow balcony access to most shows. Terminal 5 will oversell the venue forcing people to go up to the balcony (same with Webster Hall). At least with Roseland, everyone stays on the floor. Big difference.

what time does Limp Bizkit go on?

What do people not like about Highline in all honesty? I have seen a number of shows there and the sound is great everywhere you are. You can move around easily in the place. The stage is raised high enough that its not hard to see from anywhere in the club. I even went to one of its seated shows(Betty Lavette) and it was lovely.

Worst venue in this city is Irving Plaza. Anyone who disagrees is a communist.
