I hear Fuel are doing some dates

GAAAAK! SHITLOCKS!!!

who cares about appearances, they are a great band.

Posted by Anonymous | January 8, 2008 1:57 PM

They already toured together back in 1996.

I should ask my mom if she still has my old buzz bin.

Posted by CTC | January 8, 2008 2:39 PM

fuck all you...superdrag are awesome.

Posted by Anonymous | January 8, 2008 2:47 PM

as Anonymous pointed out they toured together when they were swapping #1s on the alt rock one hit wonder charts in 96.

as Anonymous#2 pointed out, both actually turned out to be pretty decent bands, and the show should be a fun one.

but I think they irony is lost on no one...

superdrag are a solid band. this is excellent news. i caught the reunion show at irving and up in boston. it's a pleasant surprise to see yet another tour date.

Will they play "Who Sucked Ourt the Feeling?"

Posted by tom | January 8, 2008 3:15 PM

i wonder how many hipsters will hold hands and cry during "inside of love" at each ones of their shows.

Posted by hipster poseur | January 8, 2008 3:33 PM

I'm really disappointed there are no "Terminal 5 SUCKS!" comments yet.

Posted by Anonymous | January 8, 2008 3:57 PM

For $22, and 2 full sets, I'm not going to complain about Terminal 5 on this one.

what's a "hipster"?

Posted by Jimmy James Johnson IV | January 8, 2008 4:44 PM

what about supergrass... can't supergrass play?

Posted by Anonymous | January 8, 2008 6:05 PM

What about Supertramp? Or even Superchunk?

Posted by Anonymous | January 8, 2008 7:18 PM

Wow, tough crowd. Both these bands are about as tight as you get live. I saw Superdrag at Bottom of the Hill in SF and they tore down the place. Nada Surf has great energy live. If you can't appreciate the solidity of their pop rock then you need to stop listening to all that twee poetry folk electronic tinkering crap that is the current obssession of the in crowd. Xiu Xiu? Please....

The Superdrag reunion show was $25, so this show is a steal. Hopefully Nada Surf will be on last so I can skip early.

Why would you even post if you aren't a fan of these two great bands? I drove 5 hours to see the reunion show in Knoxville for Superdrag and I just might have to pack up again for this. I'm guessing that these two groups have a great mutual respect for each other since Superdrag's touring is limited.

Superdrag is great. Check out "fabulous 8-track sounds of superdrag." The singer, John Davis, wrote some of the greatest songs about unrequited love. Plus they had cool guitar sounds. From 10 years ago? Yeah. But Superdrag was a band that was for real. It's catchy and awesome, which isn't for everyone.

anyone know where at sxsw they are playing yet?

Posted by jon b | February 5, 2008 4:38 PM

both great power-pop bands. the valley of dying stars record by superdrag is criminally under valued. i heard they didn't play anything off it on their reunion tour dates which bums me out. nada surf was fantastic in BK thursday.

Posted by scott | February 9, 2008 10:51 AM

They still play some Dying Stars tracks. I remember True Believer for certain was on the setlist at Irving Plaza. I agree that it is their best album but if it is a reunion of the original line-up, you have to expect that most of the set will be Headtrip and earlier.

Also, Brooklyn's The Jealous Girlfriends will be opening for Nada Surf in Toronto, Quebec, Boston and D.C. ... according to Nada's Surf's Web site

Great show! The sound was great at Terminal 5. Sightlines from the back of the floor where I was were decent! Easy to get a drink there too!

Nada Surf played for about 100 minutes which I wasn't expecting! Fun night!
