no pantsThere's at least one set of pictures from Saturday's pantless subway ride on Flickr at the moment, and a couple more shots at Improv Everywhere's site.

Thanks. The jokes involving the term "no pants" are officially old now.

Wow, these people are so radical, brave original and funny. Pretty much one of the dumbest things I have ever seen.

Posted by Anonymous | January 13, 2008 10:33 AM

"what do you do"

"oh im an improv comic"

Posted by Anonymous | January 13, 2008 10:48 AM

Can someone please explain the "art" of doing this? Or if it is not "art" what the fuck is the point?

Who wants to see fat ugly bearded kids from Brooklyn in their striped shit stained underwear? If i was on the train i would kick one of these kids in the nuts. U know...the same way they were kicked in the nuts growing up...when they couldnt do more than 2 pushups in gym class.

Well isn't this just the quirkiest, "counter-culture" thing I've ever seen... yawn.

Someone open a window cause it sure is stuffy in here.

"what did you do today"

"oh left a bitter anonymous comment"

The "no pants" event was sorta advertised on a bunch of blogs this year. It even made this week's Time Out NY.

Pretty soon, this event will become a tourist event. Something to see if you are in NYC in January. The surprise and shock value will wear thin if it hasn't already.

Still, at its inception, a fun idea.

"what did you do today?"

"I defended a really lame event."

fighting on the internet is like competing in the special olympics

I've always wanted to do some sort of freak-out performance art. But I don't really have many original/creative ideas. That's why I really loved the pant-less subway ride. Now I have this crazy story to tell all my friends. When people are like "what's it like in NYC?" I can say "OMG!" and tell them about how I rode the subway with no pants on! Also, I'm a fucking dumbass.

it was fun. if you didnt like it why would you come here and post critical comments?

Posted by Anonymous | January 13, 2008 1:56 PM

You haven't been to this site before have you?

Posted by Anonymous | January 13, 2008 2:09 PM

900 people had fun in NYC. Hundreds more had fun in 9 other cities across 3 countries. If only these people had known in advance that people who post comments on Brooklyn Vegan and Gothamist thought it was lame!

Yes, it's not a top secret event anymore. It's an annual fun time, like a parade.

judging from the photo stream there were like 4 people that i would have liked to have seen without pants.

Posted by Anonymous | January 13, 2008 2:29 PM

stop complaining about this lame event and retaliate at the PILLOW FIGHT suckas! this year tis goign to be a no pants pillowfight

Posted by Anonymous | January 13, 2008 3:44 PM

What I don't understand are all the idiots that took pictures. The organizers specifically asked for people to NOT take pictures, but I guess people have some sort of entitlement because they have a digital camera.

What part of "no pictures" didn't they understand?

Posted by Anonymous | January 13, 2008 5:41 PM

everyone dance dance dance in your underpants

"fighting on the internet is like competing in the special olympics"

As my son-in-law said in one of his movies,

FUCK YOU, ASSHOLE

Posted by Eunice Kennedy Shriver | January 13, 2008 7:45 PM

if we are free to take off our pants, are we not free to take pictures?

what part of "facist" do you not understand

Posted by Anonymous | January 13, 2008 10:29 PM

you know what's funny? Chunk and Chengwin. Where are they when we need them?

Posted by pee pee head | January 13, 2008 10:58 PM

Anon. 10:29 PM, you are a moron. First of all, the word is spelled f-a-s-c-i-s-t. Second of all, the group that organized No Pants had no power to enforce a ban on photographs, so it was just a request, not an order.

Posted by Anonymous | January 13, 2008 11:33 PM

All the more reason to express your civil liberties.

Posted by Anonymous | January 14, 2008 2:19 AM

"it was just a request, not an order."

It was not a request, nor an order.

Posted by Anonymous | January 14, 2008 3:22 AM

I SURVIVED ORDER 66!

Exactly, but unfortunately the world is full of Debbie Downers.

Posted by Anonymous | January 14, 2008 7:36 AM

Funny!!

Posted by VIRV.TV | January 14, 2008 8:37 AM

If you didn't take pictures it didn't happen. Why would you do something like that and not take pictures? That would be pretty retarded.

Posted by Anonymous | January 14, 2008 8:43 AM

"Debbie Downers"? It's an event for attention-starved people (see homegirl wearing the pink undies) to get some attention. There's nothing "Debbie Downer" about that, it's fact.

did anyone go commando?

Posted by Anonymous | January 14, 2008 9:13 AM

hipsters have some serious thunder thighs

Posted by Anonymous | January 14, 2008 10:38 AM

LOL.

Even in a harmless, cheezy gag like this, the comment section is up in arms with hate.

Posted by Reg! | January 14, 2008 12:37 PM

It is not hating if it is true

Posted by Anonymous | January 14, 2008 12:56 PM

Posted by najork | January 14, 2008 1:09 PM
