WHO CARES! Stop hyping this crap.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 11:00 AM

Yeah, *always* post a comment *at least* five times. Then go back over to Perez Hilton and listen to the music he's hyping. Typically much better than Radiohead.

FIRST!

Posted by Mike L | January 9, 2008 11:05 AM

What? No, Vineland?

Posted by Bao | January 9, 2008 11:07 AM

"WHO CARES! Stop hyping this crap."

intelligent people care...stupid assholes write things like the 'statement' above.

"WHO CARES! Stop hyping this crap."

oh hush now EMI

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 11:10 AM

ed o'brien is completely entertaining during the scotch mist footage. you only see him a few times, but he stoically delivers little slices of genius throughout.

when is the ed o'brien solo album?

Posted by ed fan | January 9, 2008 11:21 AM

Well, a lot of people care first of all, but I'd have to disagree with "intelligent people care" comment. As it is obvious from the sound of it, people who think of themselves as intelligent care, is more like it. There's not much wrong with Radiohead's music. What's wrong is this blind worshipping when there are many similar or better bands out there. And with no dates or venues, this has to be one of the lamest announcements in recent memory. If they at least had announced they will be playing somewhere smaller than MSG, that could be something to look forward to.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 11:29 AM

Hot damn, Dallas made the cut. I missed out on their opening set in support of R.E.M. just after 'The Bends' was released due to bad traffic on the way to the show. I have always regretted missing them...

Posted by Jeff | January 9, 2008 11:34 AM

philly could be vineland

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 11:35 AM

"this has to be one of the lamest announcements in recent memory."

spoken like a true spoiled New Yorker who comes to expect that their favorite band will play in their city often, multiple nights and on almost every tour.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 11:39 AM

Santa Barbara? Does that mean they are playing the Santa Barbara Bowl? What size venue do you think they are playing? They have to be playing MSG right?

Posted by anonymous2 | January 9, 2008 11:42 AM

there playing at terminal 5 in aug

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 11:44 AM

multiple nights at msg... 4 or 5 is my guess.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 11:49 AM

maybe they'll open for Justice or something. that way they too can fufill their dream of playing the garden.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 11:54 AM

This just in...They are playing Terminal 5...unfortunately the sound sucks there and will be similar to listening to in rainbows at 160kbps instead of FLAC

Posted by anonymous2 | January 9, 2008 11:56 AM

randalls island has to be a possibility.. but multiple nights at MSG makes more sense i guess. and no, i dont think philly means vineland. the organizers for vineland said they expect '30-40,000' people. radiohead would without a doubt attract much much more. i think the only festival possible now is lollapalooza.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 11:59 AM

wow, they are finally making up for that 2001 Bull Run show in DC...rain or shine my ass!

Posted by blunts | January 9, 2008 12:04 PM

i've also heard the terminal 5 rumor (for two nights).

that'd be beyond awesome if it happens, as much as i hate terminal 5. though tickets will be impossible, of course.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 12:11 PM

"multiple nights at msg... 4 or 5 is my guess."

I wouldn't get my hopes up for more than 2 nights in any of these cities.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 12:13 PM

OMG MIAMI.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 12:30 PM

Where's this Terminal 5 info coming from? I'm pretty sure they'll be hitting the east coast in may and the west coast in July after their european jaunt. Are you saying they'll tour the east coast again?

Posted by pure | January 9, 2008 12:39 PM

"Where's this Terminal 5 info coming from? "

it was reported this morning on musicsnobbery.com

""Where's this Terminal 5 info coming from? "

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 12:48 PM"

Bullshit. It was never reported anywhere. This is just a few idiots on here either trying some lame attempt at humor or starting a dumb rumor. The NYC venue is MSG. THEY ARE NOT PLAYING TERMINAL 5
NIce try though

"As it is obvious from the sound of it, people who think of themselves as intelligent care, is more like it."

intelligent people are smart enough to KNOW they are intelligent. pretentious people such as yourself like to think of themselves as intelligent.

"There's not much wrong with Radiohead's music. What's wrong is this blind worshipping when there are many similar or better bands out there."

there MAY be better bands 'out there,'(although i'm hard-pressed to think of one at the moment; you're probably thinking arcade fire or some band with 'horses, animal or panda' in the name), but there are definitely NO bands out there who are similar to radiohead.

get a grip, hipster poseur.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 1:02 PM

Lots of roadtrips-to-see-Radiohead options there.

Posted by drewo | January 9, 2008 1:03 PM

Ah, well that's fine. I just thought there was something to this rumor. I found out about Roseland back in '00 from a blog so I hoped for a lovely leak this time around too.

Posted by pure | January 9, 2008 1:05 PM

they are playing Bowery and will sell tickets only at the door the day of the show
start camping

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 1:29 PM

Mercury Lounge..bank on it!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 1:35 PM

I heard they are playing one of the bathroom stalls at Union Hall but all of the doors will be closed and you'll have to guess which one.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 1:46 PM

Does Thom York ever smile?

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 2:07 PM

They better have a giant pyramid and robot helmets.

Posted by greg | January 9, 2008 2:44 PM

I wish Radiohead would grace us here in Pittsburgh with there presence...

Posted by Anon15102 | January 9, 2008 2:54 PM

They are playing a private show at Living Room. Daft Punk is opening. The big question is, does anyone know what time they're going on?

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 3:02 PM

what time does daft punk go on?

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 3:24 PM

Man, there are some all-time dumb comments above.

There are no similar bands to Radiohead, end of story. Whoever said that is a nitwit.

And here's my vote for Randall's Island. I've never seen a better sound guy than that of Radiohead, especially in large (read: typically lousy) venues for sound. Liberty State Park sounded as good as the Bowery Ballroom years ago.

Posted by Tom | January 9, 2008 3:39 PM

I hope Radiohead plays in Nietzsche's Bathtub.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 3:50 PM

is there a class in retelling the same joke in different words?

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 3:51 PM

woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
i'd much rather it be randall's island than msg but i am happy either way

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 3:56 PM

is there a seminar in relaying a similar gag in unlike idioms?

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 4:30 PM

"is there a class in retelling the same joke in different words?"

Daft Punk, my house, 7pm, be there. After party is at MSG, house band is Radiohead, but Arcade Fire will be playing basketball against the Harlem GlobeTrotters first. Might be fun, you should come.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 4:41 PM

LAME.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 4:47 PM

radiohead are a great live band. they were great at roseland just as they were great at oxford park. complaining about what venue they'll be playing when it hasn't even been announced yet is completely ridiculous. if you don't like the idea of MSG then don't go - save complaining about it for someone cares.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 4:56 PM

"intelligent people are smart enough to KNOW they are intelligent. pretentious people such as yourself like to think of themselves as intelligent."

Uhm, apparently not intelligent enough to avoid self-contradiction.

I hope they play indoors. I was also one of the D.C. Bull Run casualties in 2001. I'll never forget the experience and the ultimate let down when the show was canceled.

Posted by Dan | January 9, 2008 4:59 PM

detroit gets snubbed again.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 5:03 PM

i honestly hope they play arenas.....i had to pay a fucking scalper 180 for my ticket last tour. i would rather see a worse show than having scalpers benefiting more off of this tour than radiohead is.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 5:08 PM

If "secret" is right:

Hey, Radiohead! East Rutherford isn't New York City. Dumbasses.

Also, I hope Fenway Park gets trashed.

Posted by joizey sux | January 9, 2008 5:35 PM

If the above dates and venues are correct, I'd bet they'll be headlining one night at the Vineland Festival in South Jersey. Very interesting...

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 5:35 PM

August 10 at Vineland - other rumour is RATM the night before. Cheers

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 5:39 PM

Their doing Lolla in Chicago. Probably won't do Vineland too. Nice thought though.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 5:43 PM

Calm down people. Dates and venues are obviously fake.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 5:52 PM

What time does Daft Punk kick Thom Yorke's ass?

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 5:55 PM

hope those aren't the real dates or i'm fucked

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 6:43 PM

Yeah, like they'd start the tour in Dallas, because they love texas so much.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 6:56 PM

Indianapolis but no Minneapolis? Strange choice.

Posted by Wiz | January 9, 2008 7:17 PM

Grant Park date confirms they play Lollapalooza...which they are.

Posted by Not All Fake | January 9, 2008 7:24 PM

those fake dates and venues forgot to include the Santa Barbara Bowl stop (where they'll probably play 2 nights yet again)

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 7:29 PM

Does Thom York ever smile?

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 9:44 PM

The dates/venues are wrong (though good try!). They won't be playing Fenway Park one night after a homestand. It takes a number of days to get the field ready for the one show they do, typically when the club is in the midst of a west coast trip.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 10:10 PM

you're all so stupid. "secret" wanted to cause controversy and look at what happened?! he picked an arena around each city and put that as the location. good try though, you had some people going.

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 10:41 PM

secret has way too much time on his hands to come up with that

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2008 10:42 PM

"secret" forgot to include a possible-sounding but completely and totally faked santa barbara venue

Posted by Anonymous | January 10, 2008 2:59 AM

Nice to see a good band in Miami. Feels like no one comes down here : (

Posted by Anonymous | January 11, 2008 8:02 AM

Can anyone think of a band with enough balls to open for Radiohead?

and as for "There's not much wrong with Radiohead's music. What's wrong is this blind worshipping when there are many similar or better bands out there."...ive never wanted to hunt down and kill someone so much in my life!

Posted by Anonymous | January 13, 2008 7:33 PM

Daft Punk, of course!

The Mars Volta could open for them -- but they are their own headliners, albeit in smaller venues.

RadioHeaD -- Gotta see them.

Posted by Anonymous | February 12, 2008 10:39 PM

yeah radiohead have been solid since 1993 that's a lot more than you can say about any flavor of the week hipster NY following. There are many NYers that are pretty cool im sure, but it seems there are many that have overly inflated egos which of course occurs all over n. AMerica but it seems to be more of the norm in this late great city... radiohead are amazing live and are the best band in the world and our beyond and hype or hoopla from any hip guy/gurl's blog. that's just the truth which lies beyond ego.
peace
