Hopefully a city date will be announced...

SALESMEN!

If you are a Rush fan, this really is the best time to see them... I saw them in 1990 as a kid and then in 2004 at Radio City and the recent show was far more fun, well-played, and far longer.

Ha. I saw Rush at Jones Beach a few years back. Long Island has a frighteningly disproportionate amount of ostentatious progressive rock fans.
Jones Beach was great before they added twice as many seats and started selling the naming rights to horrible companies. I was embarrassed to set foot in the "Tommy Hillfiger at Jones Beach Ampitheater".

Jones Beach Theatre was a fucking mess before they renovated it. Any time it rained, which it seemed was pretty much every other show, the puddles would gather in the seating area, and basically you sat in a foot of filthy water. Combine that with the falling-apart facilities and the terrible sight lines, and the place was a disaster.
Of course the corporate sellout sucks, but what venue that size hasn't sold out to some corporate interest.

I would love to take a shit down Geddy Lee's throat, causing him to choke to death.

Ryan 12:55..."ostentatious progressive rock fans" there are many, and they are lovingly called
"hipsters"
anyone else think its funny that NY young adult types call hipsters..hipsters, but the current highschool crowd calls budding hipsters "emo" kids.

The Atlantic City show on July 4th is going to cost a fortune to see. I am going to go there though since I have that week off from work and maybe hit that shit hole Jones Beach on the 14th. I have a nice tax return coming back this year finally and the Bush check mentioned today will allow us a little more spending money.
I prefer Rush circa 1977-1990. I don't care too much for the new stuff but it is worth it to see the band live as they give you a varied set list.

i'm not a big rush fan, but they're 2112 times better than at least 95% of the bands that get championed around here...

I will choose free will.

"I have a nice tax return coming back this year finally and the Bush check mentioned today will allow us a little more spending money."
And you will go and give that money to a band from a socialist country? Why do you hate America?

Remember Geddy Lee being in the Broken Social Scene video?

"I would love to take a shit down Geddy Lee's throat, causing him to choke to death."
That wouldn't go over very well for you when you end up in prison for murdering him. I think you'd end up being a little TOO popular in the shower. But hey, if you're into that sorta thing...

Geddy Lee rules all you bums. You just wish you could kick as much ass as Rush still can. All hail the Mighty Power Trio of RUSH!
