Team Robespierre @ Mercury Lounge, NYC - Dec 15, 2007 (CRED)
Team Robespierre @ Mercury Lounge

The photo above (by Tod Seelie) is from the show Team Robespierre played at Mercury Lounge with Yeasayer in December. I was running late, so I only caught the end of their set, but just enough to see people and speakers falling all over the place in front of a kind-of-mellow crowd. Slightly out of their element, Team Robespierre's show is maybe better suited for a crowd ready to go crazy - like the crowd will probably be tonight (Jan 4) @ Silent Barn in Brooklyn. Video and all tour dates below...

I'm not a huge fan of Yeasayer or White Rabbits, but I don't think this band is good either. Brooklyn can do better than this.

Their show at Silent Barn with Dan Deacon CMJ week was fucking awesome. Sweaty mess.

now now now people, there's room for white-bred rock and good ol' punk rock in the same borough. In fact, remember when Brooklyn used to have hip-hop too? Or better yet, when Brooklyn didn't consist of mid-westerners with bad music taste? Ahhh, those were the days.

BV you forgot some very important aspects of this show!

1- Zegota--the very influential late 90s DIY punk band from North Carolina is playing on there reunion tour.

2- Stza the singer of Leftover Crack is doing a rare solo acoustic performance of LOC greatest hits and other stuff.

Brooklyn WILL do better. This is a disaster.

this is seriously the worst band i've ever heard live. ever. save for the bassist and drummer, who can actually hold it down. the two singer boys are a joke. please don't waste your time.
