"WARPAINT marks the recording debut of two new band members--second guitarist Luther Dickerson, formerly of North Mississippi Allstars, and keyboardist Adam MacDougall--who join CHRIS and RICH and drummer Steve Gorman and bassist Sven Pipien. The album--which is being independently released on the band's own newly-formed Silver Arrow Records, distributed through Megaforce/Sony Red BMG--builds compellingly on the band's trademark adventurous brew of rock, blues, country, soul and gospel.

Produced and mixed by Paul Stacey at Allaire Studios, Woodstock, NY, the album features 11 songs, all of which were written by CHRIS and RICH ROBINSON, except "God's Got It" by the Reverend Charlie Jackson. "Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution" is set as the album's first single and video; the song will arrive at radio on Monday, January 7."

Does Chris Robinson live in Manhattan or Brooklyn? Seems I've spotted him around NYC at shows in recent months...

They can and do sell out much larger places, this is just a special tour. Not that they have the drawing power that they did in their heyday, but they still have a lot of fans. With Luther on guitar, there's a lot of potential for this album and tour. You can hear a song on blackcrowes.com

I care. This is the best live band around right now. Always a great show. And if you're in the right state, the music goes right through you. Chris Robinson is one of the best front men around. The show in Boston sold out in about 2 minutes, so I guess a few other people care as well. Go play your Nickelback and Maroon 5 albums and stay off the boards.

I've recently rediscovered the Crowes after initially banning them in a flurry of hipster disapproval. They have some great tunes and the new album is good.

I saw them last night at Irving Plaza....AMAZING show as always! Why would you care if they were playing a small venue when you could be 3 rows back seeing them?

I'm loving the new album...
