As if it weren't good enough that Phosphorescent was playing two small NYC venues with Bowerbirds, they/he are also playing a third upcoming NYC show at Union Pool on February 2nd. It's a show with his friends The Dodos - a San Francisco band who Frenchkiss Records recently signed, and who are also playing January 28th at Mercury Lounge with Alberta Cross, Noise Pop in San Francisco, SXSW in Austin, AND as part of Akron/Family's backing band at Coachella. As Akron/Family is the penultimate "backing band" how is that they have a backing band for Coachella? Is it the Sun Ak/Ak Orchestra?

Urine enemas are refreshing as all get out. The new variety of easy listening "indie" influenced pop music is my favorite genre!

The Dodos were totally amazing when I saw them last year at Luna Lounge. Had never heard them (or heard of them) before, and haven't been wowed by an unknown opening band like that in years.
The record is pretty good too, but they smoke live. Definately worth checking out.
