No Vineland

(Austin, TX – January 25, 2008) The inaugural Vineland Festival originally scheduled for August 8, 9, and 10 in Vineland, NJ has been moved to early summer 2009. Due to the overall festival traffic in the northeast and big bands touring through this area at the same time, co-producers Festival Republic and C3 Presents have decided to step back and launch Vineland in 2009.

Festival Republic head Melvin Benn and the partners at C3 Presents are spending more time in the city of Vineland, working with the community to address all neighborhood concerns and launch the event in 2009. The co-producers did not want to force music fans to choose between three events on the same weekend. While disappointed with the delay, they believe the overall health of the festival business and the music industry takes precedent over any of their singular objectives.

Both the city of Vineland and the co-producers are committed to working diligently to bring a world class music event to Vineland, one that enhances the community and is a success for years to come.

What a shock!? Hope that All Points West is still on?!

A shock? It is not a shock at all. If they actually tried to do this now it would never happen. The community there wa dead set against it. May i remind you about Field Day a few years back?
This idea of the conflicting with other shows is just bs. More time in the community is right or more like who do i have to pay off to make this happen in 2009

What was the third event to choose from?

"What was the third event to choose from?"

warped tour, duh!

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2008 12:43 PM

Virgin Fest is Baltimore was third choice.

Wow. First to announce, and first to pull out.

Posted by Robert | January 25, 2008 12:55 PM

Actually the community isn't dead set against it. There is a small group of less ten 100 people against it. There is also pro-festival group that formed about a week ago that is already well over 100 people. So any reports of the "community" being against it is total bullshit - it's less then 1% of the population.

That said I think this is the right choice. No need for two huge festivals in Jersey on the same day.

100 people is all it takes.

The East Coast is jinxed, we never can get festivals to happen just like Field Day.

I wouldn't count on Libery State Park one happening either.

HA-HA!

Posted by Nelson Muntz | January 25, 2008 1:43 PM

let down.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2008 1:46 PM

liberty state park will happen.. no residents to stand in the way, and GoldenVoice seems professional enough to have gotten the permits/logistics/hand-shakes and all that out of the way before announcing this. id say not only is it going to happen, but it will likely sell out due to (hopefully) Radiohead, and people's overall discontent with the coachella line-up. people on lollapalooza and coachella's message boards have already booked hotels in jersey city. people love festivals.

"I wouldn't count on Libery State Park one happening either."

That one is very much happening

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2008 1:48 PM

yay green lines of doom! we've missed you

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2008 2:18 PM

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2008 2:22 PM

dirty projectors are headlining a night at the one at liberty park

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2008 2:38 PM

shucks, i loved the idea of having two fesitvals to choose from when us new yorkers have none. oh well, better that they're pulling the plug now than three days before the event like field day. cause nothing sucked more than that.

"What was the third event to choose from?"

VFest in Baltimore is the same weekend.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2008 3:08 PM

obviously they finally realized that they would be in debt after this festival ended because apw is the same weekend. cant wait for august 8

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2008 3:23 PM

yes, everyone knows how much it sucked that field day got cancelled... but i think its time to move on. it gets referenced literally every time a festival comes up. we get it.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2008 3:26 PM

Radiohead, Coldplay, and Jack Johnson will be headlining All Points West.

Posted by Monklish | January 25, 2008 3:52 PM

"VFest in Baltimore is the same weekend."

i don't think they even chose a weekend yet. you lie.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2008 4:09 PM

"yeah. def happening. love how people talk out there ass when they have no idea."

and you do?

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2008 4:18 PM

I think all three events should combine to make a super festival on my rooftop.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2008 4:18 PM

"'VFest in Baltimore is the same weekend.'"

i don't think they even chose a weekend yet. you lie."

Actually, no, that's confirmed. From a high level source, Foo Fighters/Jack Johnson are two of the headliners.

OK, so what's the most likely artists/bands you'll see in APW?

All I can say is, Radiohead is definitely worth some of the cash, but if this is gonna be $270 like Coachella, then GV is crazy. They better have some stellar acts there, I'm talking Chemical Brothers, Battles, Digitalism, Simian Mobile Disco, Basement Jaxx, Justice, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, etc.

Justice is only going into that list because this MSG fiasco is ri-fucking-diculous.

Posted by Anonymous | January 26, 2008 12:06 AM

no, it's gonna be $270 and have just one band: radiohead.

Posted by Anonymous | January 26, 2008 12:19 AM

having vampire weekend on the bill totally justifies $270

Posted by Anonymous | January 26, 2008 12:25 AM

OK, what really is worth $270 in terms of a proper line-up for All Points West?

Posted by Anonymous | January 26, 2008 1:37 AM

$240 worth of pudding

Posted by Anonymous | January 26, 2008 3:06 AM

Is that chocolate pudding or rice pudding?

Posted by Anonymous | January 26, 2008 10:54 AM

2-girls-1-cup-type pudding

Posted by Anonymous | January 26, 2008 11:35 AM

ewwwwwwwwwww even though i dont think that video is real

Posted by Anonymous | January 26, 2008 11:55 AM

APW will be a good - bank on it - Goldenvoice doesn't screw around with their line-ups - wellexcpet for this year's Coachella fest which is still a head scratcher.
