What's going on Wednesday?

While looking for a picture of last night's Ecstatic Peace show, I found a picture of Thurston Moore and Ian MacKaye eating brunch...

Thurston Moore and Iam MacKaye

* an Iron Maiden tribute at Mercury Lounge
* Martin Medeski & Wood came out with a new album
* Martin Medeski & Wood are playing Borders
* Natalie Merchant is playing Hiro Ballroom
* Kate Nash is playing Bowery Ballroom
* Kate Nash played Virgin Megastore
* Sia is playing Virgin Megastore

Did you see Sia on Conan last night? It was cute, but I don't have a video. Instead a video of Thurston Moore's November Jimmy Kimmel appearance is below. What else?

I was surprised to find that Thurston Moore is like in his forties and not even very cute. Is anybody really a fan of his?

Medeski Martin and Wood-- you have the first two flipped :)

Yes, actually, people are fans of Thurston Moore. I guess his last solo record didn't strike a chord with you, huh? Best stick to the Kate Nash or whatever.

Great show by thurston. What's wrong with being 40? The other bands sucked big time. Maybe they were too young.

tall firs were okay, their drummer was trying too hard.

mv + ee makes me want to shoot copious amounts of heroin into every pore of my body.

that shit was boring.

Way to cross a picket line, Sia. You and Bob Saget deserve each other.

"Way to cross a picket line, Sia. You and Bob Saget deserve each other."

Anon 3:51 - I believe the first comment was a reference to the same comment made here:

about Kimya Dawson. Yes, I am a loser with too much free time for knowing that. It is interesting how many female artists get ragged on for their age and appearance on this site, but the elder statesmen of indie rock are beyond reproach. But this is a shallow shallow shallow scene, and that's just the way it is.

Instead of just calling somebody a douche, please explain how Sia's picket line crossing is different from Bob Saget's?

She's putting herself in a league of hacks like Hulk Hogan and Scott Baio. Did she also have Mike Huckabee on bass?

"way to be a douche."

As hard as it may be for some of you trustfunders in Williamsburg to understand, unions actually protect the jobs of a lot of decent, hard working people.
