I'm kinda sick of getting searched. When is this fad gonna be over or is the fascism here to stay?
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 10:23 AM
does anyone have PRESALE PASSWORD to THE SWELL SEASON that is going on right now?
(that is not ONCE)
Posted by danidin | February 29, 2008 10:25 AM
Yah because getting searched is really indicative of a fascist state. Get a fucking clue people-you have no idea what real fascism feels like

get ready to get ripped off by ticketmaster!!
Nick Cave Tix went back on sale/Plug Awards...There was no option for willcall..I had to use ticketfast and spend $2.50 extra. so $10 face value comes to $18.50...wheres the outrage?
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 10:41 AM
It bears repeating: the lineup sucks. You are basically paying $105 for a Radiohead concert (which is not band if they play a regular set).
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 10:49 AM
What time does Daft Punk go on?
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 10:51 AM
"It bears repeating: the lineup sucks. You are basically paying $105 for a Radiohead concert (which is not band if they play a regular set)."
They'll play 23-25 songs like they usually do, I think there's few enough bands on each day to ensure that Radiohead goes on early enough to play their usual enormous sets. And $105 for Radiohead + Animal Collective...Saturday is great.
Posted by Tumbleweed | February 29, 2008 10:54 AM
And Kings of Leon and The Roots on Saturday too...
If I don't get a ticket I'm going to be seriously bummed.
Posted by Drugs Delaney | February 29, 2008 10:56 AM
Please, don't sell out Saturday tickets... I am poor until next Friday.
Posted by Eduardo | February 29, 2008 10:57 AM
The Swell Season password is : HESEASON.
That unfortunately will not get you into All Points West. Enjoy the show.

WAKE UP! anon 10.34.
assuming you live in amerika, you've been residing in a fascist state for just over 7 years now.
perhaps you don't feel it because you are a fascist (or just numb).

Presale for Swell Season = HESEASON.
Good luck!

have you guys ever been to Coachella? thats as fascist state a festival as Ive ever been to. THey have California State troopers on the festival grounds patrolling, some on horses! very very strict security.
dont tell me they have to be like that either, because Ive been to both Bonnaroo and Lolla in chi and in comparison to COachella that was heaven.
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 11:28 AM
I'm sorry but a bill with Radiohead AND Underworld is unreal!! Then the next night with Radiohead AGAIN and king of Leon and Animal collective.....Soooo worth it!

I wish you lived in North Korea and tried to speak out like you are lucky enough to do now. Our gov't. might be lousy but to think it's facist is ridiculous. You are truly an overpriviledged brat!

Anon 12:08 is right. Start from a fresh browser window. Tried a bookmarked page multiple times and it didn't work.

i'm going to check myspace the day of fri's show...just want to see radiohead that day
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 12:14 PM
Got tickets for Friday. Going after work just to see Radiohead. Will probably spend Sat/Sun at the Virgin Festival. The APW lineup is terrible.
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 12:24 PM
"i'm going to check myspace the day of fri's show...just want to see radiohead that day"
Why would you check myspace?!?
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 12:29 PM
Does this years 8/9/08 have any chance of being like last year's 8/9/07??? Even if the lineup is mediocre at best, you are still seeing radiohead on the one year anniversary of a day that will for ever be remembered on Brooklyn Vegan.
Posted by anonymous2 | February 29, 2008 1:04 PM
my goodness, that lineup is boring as all hell... where's the danger?
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 1:07 PM
Can someone explain 8/9/07 ref for us outsiders?
Posted by Huh? | February 29, 2008 1:08 PM
TICKETS ARE NOT SOLD OUT... yet
Posted by cary | February 29, 2008 1:18 PM
8/9/07 = birth of "What time does Daft Punk go on?"
Posted by mp77 | February 29, 2008 1:19 PM
Daft Punk played NYC on that date.
Also, I didn't realize APW falls on 8/8/08... that's kind of cool.
Posted by Paul | February 29, 2008 1:20 PM
"i'm currently drinking your milkshake"
That bs is already getting old.
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 1:29 PM
i've abandoned my milkshake!
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 1:36 PM
"TICKETS ARE NOT SOLD OUT... yet
Posted by cary | February 29, 2008 1:18 PM"
SHOCKING!!!
Cmon did anyone really think this would sell out that quickly?? Even with Radiohead. Its a huge space. There will be tickets for each day going for way less than face the week of the show. Please remember that the precious Daft Punk show did not sell out for months after tickets went on sale. Actually it never sold out. I remember them selling tickets when you walked up to Keyspan.
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 1:42 PM
I wouldnt count on this show lasting as long as that but selling out in 10 minutes isnt realistic for this many tickets

Daft Punk set time jokes : 2007 :: There Will Be Blood milkshake jokes : 2008
Posted by bobby the rookie | February 29, 2008 1:46 PM
I agree about the tickets taking a while to sell out. 60,000 tickets at over $100 a pop after fees will not go that quick. Think about this it is similar capactiy to three shows at MSG where all tickets are $100. I will get my ticket outside for $50 or so day of. It is funny how people on ebay expect $200 a pop already and it isn't sold out! Even if it sells out alot of tickets will flood the market.
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 1:59 PM
tickets arent sold out beacuse the festival is underwhelming
wait for may 2009 vineland when the acts will be much better
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 2:13 PM
Vineland is never happening. Bank on it.
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 2:31 PM
i hope it rains that weekend
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 2:44 PM
Anon 2:44 why do you have to rain on everyone's parade?
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 2:49 PM
1. Agreed, Vineland will never happen.
2. Saturday seems to be the day of choice, even with Underworld playing Friday, I guess the other bands on Saturday are a bigger draw.
3. Wonder what capacity is, if they treat it like Coachella - it will be sardine central. And it will fail like Field Day.
4. Is anyone going on Sunday ( Jack Johnson)??? Really??? I have doubts about that.
5. The Waste and GV presales sold out and yet, I have NO idea why, I think Virgin's line up is going to KILL APW, even with Thom and co. APW is kinda weak in terms of a complete festival.
6. Lolla will also "kill" APW in terms of line up and choices.
Posted by cdub | February 29, 2008 3:25 PM
"I think Virgin's line up is going to KILL APW"
I think the APW is lackluster because Virgin already booked the better bands (except Radiohead). APW then had to beat Virgin to the punch by announcing the lineup and ticket dates waaaaay in advance.
Friday = APW
Sat/Sun = Virgin
Easy as pie.
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 3:31 PM
I'm going on Sunday to see Jack Johnson. He's a writer and performer of good, honest pop music.
I would never pay that much to see Radiohead. Hell, I'd never even see them. They're music is too ridiculous, what with different time signatures, the instrumentation, and a dude singing like a girl. It's pop music: make it like everyone else. The only people who like music that challenging probably dislike other things wholesome--like the radio.
Posted by Musical Crusader | February 29, 2008 3:33 PM
From what I see, comparing APW to Lolla and/or Virgin doesnt make sense because its smaller. its basically a big weekend event for people in the nyc area and not a huge destination festival with camping
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 3:48 PM
I am just going to hold off until Lollapalooza and ACL are announced-those will probably have better lineups, be better return for ticket price, and be more pleasant settings and experiences. And Chicago and Austin are great places-the festivals are the most conveniently located.
Hoping that Radiohead plays one of them!
Posted by Charles | February 29, 2008 3:49 PM
radiohead will most likely not play lolla (should be coming through chicago after apw), and they will definitely not be playing acl (the us tour is done by the end of august). so dont even consider austin.
Posted by bobby the rookie | February 29, 2008 4:19 PM
i will never go to virgin fest ever again, regardless of who plays. that is the worst festival ever.
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 4:21 PM
single day saturday tickets are sold out now.
Posted by Liz | February 29, 2008 4:34 PM
wow i think youre right. i bet the scalpers just bought them all up - youll be able to get them cheap later
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 4:49 PM
Or maybe its Radiohead in NYC and people bought them? duh
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 4:52 PM
I hear that Radiohead is doing a Highline show and tickets will be available to three day pass holders only
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 4:56 PM
saturday sold out
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 5:10 PM
these "are you stupid did you really think tickets would sell out in that big of a space people" work for hillary.
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 5:24 PM
I heard Jack Johnson wil perform in the 14th street subway station before his APW gig. $150 per person donation in the guitar case to enter the station.
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 5:48 PM
What time does Daft Punk drink my milkshake?
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 9:52 PM
you people are nuts. friday's lineup is so much better.
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 11:00 PM
thats laughable, radiohead and animal are easily the top 2 acts
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 11:25 PM
panda and thom collabs
Posted by Anonymous | February 29, 2008 11:26 PM
jack johnson is this generation's jimmy buffett.
Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2008 2:38 AM
no fucking way. Go! Team is better than Animal Collective.
Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2008 3:04 AM
yeah, now that we're on that topic: could someone please explain to me the appeal of animal collective (preferably without using the word "challenging" or completely ripping off a pitchfork review)? i'm really dying to know why a band that sounds, to me personally, like a bunch of stoners moaning and screaming over cyclic backgrounds (i.e. "leaf house," "grass") is so damn popular.
not being facetious either: please point me to any songs, albums, or EPs that would really allow me to "get" animal collective. i'm curious.
but yeah, um, friday's lineup is way better overall. sorry guys.
Posted by that guy | March 1, 2008 11:16 AM
leaf house and grass is when AC was good, Hollindagain is my fav album. Last year was their downfall. As they are now, too melodic and pretty for me.
Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2008 11:23 AM
try listening to panda bear's album first. to me, it was the gateway into finally 'getting' animal collective.
Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2008 11:44 AM
Animal Collective are popular because someone at Pitchfork likes them. Remember, hipsters have no mind/ideas of their own, they basically like whatever blogs tell them is hip. If Pitchfork likes them, then half of Williamsburg will have to admit that they also like them.
AC are good, but their music does not translate well into big outdoor spaces. Their SSS show was easily their worst in the NYC area. Even the Webster Hall show was better.
Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2008 11:45 AM
Just got Fri tix, and now trying for Saturday... Is Saturday *seriously* sold out, or are they holding tix for 3-day pass people? I mean, come on. I don't believe it's really sold out.
Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2008 12:37 PM
obviously if 3 day pass is still available, then sat is not sold out, 12:37
Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2008 1:17 PM
Friday will sell out soon, too. It's by far a better lineup. Andrew Bird is playing, and he rocks ass.
Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2008 1:49 PM
problem with friday is it will entail getting out of work early. Lot of people cant do that. But you are right, probably it will sell out judging by the fact it sold out on WASTE as well.
What are the scalpers asking? Im too lazy to check. Im gonna guess 200 +. I hope lot of them bought tickets and will have to eat them.
Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2008 2:09 PM
God I hope Radiohead plays "Allentown" ... I love that tune, but I'd be happy if they did "Time after Time"
Yeah Jack Johnson is so lame ... so commercial. They just don't make bands likt Bang Tango anymore ...ah well.
Hey who wants to tak pop shots at Amadou & Marium?
That's actully why I bought a Sunday tix. I wish I could give them %100 of my ticket money for that day.
Posted by Anonymous | March 2, 2008 9:56 PM
9:56= honestly I wont be surprised if McCarren Pool has a better show on Sunday. Actually, I'm counting on it.
Posted by Anonymous | March 3, 2008 1:28 AM
radiohead in new york was the big selling point for me. but the line up is a bit thin, boasting less than half the number of acts as coachella, or lalapalloza.
golden voice announced the line up, and sold tickets so early, it would have been nice to see what the other festivals had to offer.
i live in l.a., a plane ticket to chicago and new york in the same month is a little out of my income tax bracket. given time to choose, i might have chosen chicago, where i would have been able to visit my family. then maybe i wouldn't experience that guilt i feel every time i fly out to see a show, thinking i could have spent the money to visit them.
