Diablo Cody is fuckin' HOT

"Diablo Cody is fuckin' HOT"

You really need to get out more if you think so.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 1:26 AM

was that diablo cody award to spite all writers everywhere? think about it! orson welles, mel brooks, woody allen, diablo cody!

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 2:15 AM

you made a mistake.
actuallly, daft punk won best original score for electroma... and none of the music was even theirs!

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 2:56 AM

were those daft punk jokes ever funny?

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 4:26 AM

There Will be Blood was robbed! robbed I tell ya!

Posted by Les | February 25, 2008 5:09 AM

there will be blood good film but no country for old men: well deserved. Well deserved

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 8:14 AM

I'm just glad atonement didnt win. Would have had a heart attack. Pile of crap. Golden globes suck.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 8:17 AM

Whole lotta white folks.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 8:25 AM

Original Song: "Falling Slowly" from "Once," Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova.

This was so deserving. Best moment was when Jon Stewart brought Marketa back onto the stage.

Cinematography: "There Will Be Blood."

Thought TWWB should've won Best Picture, but Atonement should've taken Cinematography.

By no means did TWBB deserve to win best picture. No way. 'No Country' had a lot more to think about after the film was over; TWBB was just a linear story with nothing much more beneath the surface. A good movie, but hardly better than the deserved winner.

And Diablo Cody winning for best screenplay is kind of a joke.

"just a linear story with nothing much more beneath the surface"

are you sure you saw TWBB?????

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 9:04 AM

^^^Agreed...the depth of emotion and topics such as religious faith, self-hatred, greed, redemtion and rejection of redemption, etc. addressed in TWBB is remarkable. You're nuts Anon 8:48!

Don't get me wrong, I liked Juno. It was a cute little film with little flaws. But best screenplay? I was basically an afterschool-movie/TV-movie-of-the-week with a bit hipper dialog. "Original" screenplay? I think not. Nothing original about that screenplay. Still, good movie.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 9:52 AM

I saw all the Best Picture movies except Atonement, and while I loved TWBB, NCFOM was my favorite.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 9:53 AM

I left the theater slightly disappointed with TWBB, given all the mega-hype. I left the theater incredibly satisfied, my high expectations exceeded, after seeing NCFOM. Simple as that.

There Will Be Blood should have won best picture but No Country was definitely deserving of an oscar. I thought Atonement also in a different year could have won (better than Crash, Chicago, ect.)

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 10:42 AM

I saw all the best picture nominees. My order for them:

1.) NCfOM (best movie in years, terrific acting by Bardem, Brolin, Jones, MacDonald and Harrelson)
2.) Michael Clayton (best screenplay this year, terrific acting by Wilkinson and Clooney)
3.) TWBB (terrific acting, shaky flow though)
4.) Juno (great acting, especially by Ellen Page - other actors were great as caricatures)
5.) Atonement (middle completely ruined it for me; bookended by a great beginning and solid end)

Diablo Cody should give that Oscar to the guy who put together the first trailer for 'Juno'. He managed to include every funny moment from the entire movie and completely mask the shit that made up the rest of it. What a piece of garbage that movie was.

Giving her that award makes a mockery of the Academy and every other writer in Hollywood.

Posted by FRX | February 25, 2008 12:02 PM

Juno was crap..Diablo Cody looked fat in whatever she was wearing..'There will be blood' should have won best picture, and if jonny greenwood would've been nominated for the score he would've won. that was just bs..previously used music or not.

Posted by hipster poseur | February 25, 2008 12:15 PM

My only complaint:

Why manufacture "I drink your milkshake" t-shirts when "BASTARD IN A BASKET!!!" is obviously funnier?

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 12:26 PM

Somewhat insulting of Diablo Cody dedicating the award to writers, considering she is not one. She was either rubbing it into their face and wanted to make believe she was one of them (she's not).

Afterschool special is dead-on.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 12:35 PM

i loved there will be blood. and because i loved it, it should have won. i love no country for old men too, but twbb did it for me, 100%.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 1:13 PM

I like going to the movies

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 2:11 PM

best Cinematography should've been INTO THE WILD . The American landscape has never looked better. I'm going to see it again ..

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 5:58 PM

^^^^ Are you really arguing Best Cinematography? If that's your biggest gripe with the awards, you'd be better off not complaining at all.

Diablo should've won Best Original Screenplay, because it was the Best Original Screenplay (with emphasis on ORIGINAL).

TWBB should've won, but hey, Citizen Kane didn't win either.

Tilda Swinton winning over Cate Blanchett or Amy Ryan is the biggest joke. They just wanted to give something to Michael Clayton, and this was the path of least resistance.

I want to be Javier Bardem, because last night he went home after winning an Oscar, and banged Penelope Cruz (hard), while firmly grasping his Oscar, and staring at his reflection in it.

Last years true achievement in cinematography, was deakins work in the assassination of jesse james. practically every shot in that film is stunning. i've seen it four times now, simply just to sit back and watch the images in awe.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 6:45 PM

Am I the only sane person here??? Transformers should have won best cinematography hands down. The explosions on camera, the robotics involved. Its easy to plant youself in a beautiful landscape and point the camera but shooting these giant robotic structures in heavily populated cities takes painstaking time.

Michael Bay took us on a visual journey. What a rare gem.

Dildo Cody looks like Angelica Houston in drag...Wait a second, Angelica Houston looks like Angelica Houston in drag. Whatever, you get the point.

i thought TTDDEW would win, or DOHEQVX, but alas, KKJHIUT got the award. WTFSOB?

my fave of the year was ZBBHYT. a close second was JBKVCX. although, i have yet to see KBFFEG, so i can't really comment on it.

No surprise that the NY Piece-Of-Shit Tabloid put her on the front page of Monday's edition (to sell papers). WHO'S TAT GIRL! PRETTY IN INK! Somebody kill me...

Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2008 1:50 AM

Why was Johnny Greenwood not nominated for best score? He’s like, in a famous band and stuff.

Posted by Liz | February 27, 2008 10:09 AM

why wasn't the first movie score i've ever really cared about (let alone, listened to) nominated??!
