Feist wins 2008 Shortlist Music Prize, Feist for president

The Reminder

Canadian singer Leslie Feist is the winner of the Seventh Annual Shortlist Music Prize for her album The Reminder. Feist is the second female artist to win the prize, following Cat Power who won the award last year.

Feist is the first Canadian winner of the Shortlist Music Prize, joining Irish singer Damien Rice and Icelandic band Sigur Ros as Shortlist winners who hail from outside the US. Previous winners also include American artists Sufjan Stevens, N*E*R*D and TV on the Radio.

Feist just announced some tour dates, and is playing the Grammys. RCRD LBL is giving away a Portishead-esque song by Readymade FC with Leslie Feist on vocals.

Cat Power (Chan Marshall) recently visited India, and visits NYC this Wednesday.

Man, fesit is a second rate lounge act. I dont get the love for her. Saw her live a few years ago with Kings of Convenience and while she was indeed charming, her live show was just flat out bad.

well, fesit may indeed be a boring show, but Feist is charming and puts on a great show.

she deserves this. it was a good year for her.

now let's see how long we can go before the comments about her looks begin.
