how to pronounce 'Nguyen' and other stuff from Thao

Thao Nguyen live on WNYC

It was just six posts ago that the name "Nguyen" became the topic of conversation, and it was in that same post that we found out Thao Nguyen was on the radio yesterday. Now you can listen to that radio broadcast in the little embedded player up above, and you can hear Thao explain how to pronounce "Nguyen" in the video below (and keep watching because she sings a really good song after she finishes talking about, Kill Rock Stars, hoodies and other stuff).....

How the fuck clueless can one be if you don't know how to pronounce the last name Nguyen? It is one of the most common names for Asians.

I would think by now most people who have some amount of education would understand a simple name like that.
