Screw the producers first. Then screw all the rich writers, who go to strike and leave crew members, who make much less money than they do, without a job.

I still need to see this band live. If their last NYC show wasn't super late (or early, really) I would have totally been there.

Forget picket lines. Great, great performance.

i don't know if he's still doing it, but conan was covering the 80+ employees' salaries he had on staff during the beginning of the strike.

So here's to hoping the writers end their strike soon....in the meantime Les Savy Fav are awesome. And this performance is great. Dare I say much better than your dogs anus....?

i miss 30 Rock and the Office just as much as the rest of you, but Les Savy Fav have been a band for how many years now? how many bands have formed after them and achieved success by basically ripping them off? and they've never played on TV EVER???? fucking Manchester Orchestra gets to play on Letterman for fucks sake, and the Fav never have? something is wrong with that... what i mean to say is that despite the fact that the writers are getting a shit deal on this whole thing, it's still great to see a band - who probably have a lot in common with the writers in a lot of sense - get a chance to play their music in front of a larger audience after having put 10-plus years in eating Taco Bell and sleeping on the floor... LSF is finally getting their due.

Since when do they have a second guitarist? I haven't seen them in awhile (years) but I thought they were a four-piece.
Damn, I'm out of of the loop.
(And hell yeah on the Les Scabby Fav thing. Workers of the world unite!)

Wrong post, Einstein.

"Really disappointed these guys crossed the line. Really disappointed."
Crossed the line? Are you serious? How do the choices they make affect you in any way? What the fuck do you care if they play conan or play a street corner? If it was right for them, then it was right for them. Last I checked, it's their band, their music and their career. I don't think they're concerned with your "disappointment" in them. Pretentious, hyper-critical prick. We should all be so lucky to live in your idealized world.

Wow, big union-bustin' crowd, here. And I agree! They can do whatever they want to do. It's a free country. I would have loved to see LSF on Letterman or Ferguson, or on Conan or Leno after the strike had been settled. And the band's no doubt making much less than this particular group of striking writers. They deserve to be making enough $ to stop singing about resenting the rent.
But I can also be disappointed when a band I admire says "Vote Romney!" or kicks a baby or refuses to support artists -- and don't tell me that masturbating bear ain't art -- by crossing a picket line. I'm allowed to tell them I find their actions disappointing, and they're allowed to not give a shit what a fan thinks, and then someone else is allowed to come along and say, 'What time does Daft Punk cross the picket line into J's dog's ass.'
It didn't seem like the sort of thing Les Savy Fav would do. Or Shakira. I was pretty disappointed in Shakira, too.
Gotta go. Go Giants.

No one crossed any picket line here. Conan struck his own seperate deal with the writers guild. Google it if you doubt . .. but anyway! Hilarious and amazing!!! Tim rules it!

Feel free to post a link, because I haven't seen any such thing. Letterman and Ferguson could strike a deal b/c those shows are owned by Letterman's own production company. Conan is owned by NBC/Universal. Didn't he just take an extra week off b/c he was exhausted from working w/o writers?
Talks are back on and hopefully this will all be over soon.
