Will Nick finally have a rock band, or do we get more of the precious aging-not-so-gracefully stuff that was nice on the Impossible Bird more than a decade ago and has been worn thinner than thin for years? It's almost surreal that a band as influential and talented as Rockpile has been forgotten, especially with the reviews Lowe and Edmunds consistently got in the 70s. Assuming they could still cut it, and reunioned, would anybody care? If it hasn't happened by now, it probably won't, and after all, when they finally got together to tour as a unit back in the day after working on one another's albums, they realized through the booze they hated each other and it didn't work anyway. The sound of breaking glass becomes the adult grown-up sound of giving up. So it goes.
