Super Furry Animals @ Bowery Ballroom

Super Furry Animals played Bowery Ballroom in NYC last night (Feb 24). They can be found playing again, in two places, tonight .... 1) playing Bowery Ballroom again.....with Times New Viking again. 2) performing "Neo-Consumer" on Conan O'Brien - the same song they played last month on Letterman....

Matt and Kim + guitar - chaos = TNV. They were OK.

What time did SFA go on at?

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2008 3:01 PM

box office says TNV at 9, SFA at 10 - for tonight, at least. Anybody go last night know when SFA really went on and how long they played?
thanks.../

Last night they went on @ 10. Played for approx 75-80 minutes. No encore.

sfa played with no passion at all last night. very "professional", ie hired gun rhythm section that looked like they were having no fun.

The music was still great though. That version of Zoom was pretty awesome.

anyone have the set list?

There was a time when I wouldn't dare miss an SFA show in town, especially one so close to home. Sadly, that time has passed.

About 2/3 the length of the fanstastic Williamsburg set 1 month ago. It's the end of their tour - they seem a bit tired. That said, the show was tight, professional, and entertaining and the songs are of course undeniable. Hearing G!SMM was a real treat. They started a little after 10pm.

(rough on the exact order)

Slow Life
Rings Around the World
The Gateway Song
Run-Away
Golden Retriever
Do or Die
She's Got Spies
Neo Consumer
The Gift That Keeps Giving
Zoom!
(5-10 min attempt to have the audience vote on the next song)
God! Show Me Magic
Receptacle for the Respectable
Juxtaposed With You
Into the Night
Baby Ate My Eightball
Calimero
Hello Sunshine
Man Don’t Give a Fuck
Keep the Cosmic Trigger Happy

Will have video on my site in a couple of days. I do agree that the delivery last night was cut and dry.... but it was still rocking.

TNV are crap. Should change their name to "Emperor's New Clothes".

Also, wtf with the "hired gun rhythm section" comment? They're the same group of people that have been playing together for over a decade, now...

Anyone have the setlist for the 2/25 show?
