this show was great

these guys were bad. there was one guy jumping around with them, and the rest of the crowd was uninterested.

this band is very very bad. saw them at studio b a while ago and it felt like they were forcing the crowd to like them. of course, if you jump enough on-stage and off-stage someone will follow you, but that doesn't mean the rest of the crowd likes the music. bad and boring. they are trying too hard and don't have the music to back it up.

jesus...you guys act like this band fucked your sister or something.

team robespierre owns, actually. the band's sound is amazingly unique, and no, they're not forcing the audience to like them... that's called enthusiasm. they're extremely high energy. and the fact that they weren't headlining (read: the crowd was not primarily there to see them, but foals) means that many probably weren't familiar with their music. and i don't know about anyone else, but when i'm not familiar with a band, i don't generally tend to start moshing to it right off the bat. lay off.

i do merch for these guys sometimes, they sold 23 cds last night. so you mr ANONYMOUS @ 11:05 ARE A COMPLETE DUMBASS

maybe if you haters had seen TR three times already you'd know what to expect. there's been way more press (especially on BV) about team robespierre than foals, so maybe you shouldn't follow the yellow brick hype road and actually try listening to smaller bands and get your head out of your collective asses. they practically destroyed death by audio for their record release two weeks ago, and you have the audacity to call them 'very very bad'? go listen to some vampire weekend or something, and leave real music enjoyment to those of us who know how to do it.

for the record, yes, i was the person jumping around with TR, and i fucking loved it.

anon 11:51 - right on.

pretty funny that a hater is someone who doesn't like the music of a particular band and gives rational reasons to justify that. you have to handle those type of things, it comes with putting your music out there. but then again, none of you are in the band so who cares.

Trying waaaaaaaaayyy too hard fellas. Jumping around and acting like jackasses will get you a few fans who are into that sort of thing, but certainly won't last. It's the music that matters and TR simply play bad music.

''for the record, yes, i was the person jumping around with TR, and i fucking loved it.'' you were also the asshole wearing the mattandkim shirt so anything you say is DOA

emusic is really great...$15 for 50 songs/month...sign up!

...or, at very least, sign up for the "free 50 download" trial, download 50 songs, and delete your account before the billing starts (it works and you don't get charged...i've done it multiple times).

but back to my first suggestion, just sign up! the catalog is pretty decent and it's way cheaper than itunes/CDs/LPs

Three guys are hanging out a bar in Midtown after work. They get to talking and realize that they all have a pretty low opinion of this particular drinking establishment. The first guy, an Italian from Howard Beach, says "you know, back in my neighborhood we got a real nice bar, Tony's. You go in there, buy the first 2 drinks and then my paisan Tony buys you the thoid on da house! You buy two more Tony buys you anudda!"
The second guy, an Irishman right off the boat chimes in "Aye, well back in County Cork, dere's a nice little boozer where you go in, you buy the first pint, Old McCarthy buys you the second! And so on and so forth... Slainte!"
The third guy, a Pole from Greenpoint looks up from his Żywiec and says "That's nuthin! back in my neighborhood there's a place called the Turkey's Nest where you go in, they buy you the first drink, then they buy you the second and the third, and they keep 'em coming. Then they take you out back and get you laid!"
The Irishman and the Italian look at the Pole incredulously. "Wow! That's amazing! That really happened to you?"
"No, but it happened to my sister."

I suppose the all people in the pictures watching and smiling were just masking their hate for the band. I thought they were great, but it didn't mean I went and jumped around with them. Seriously though can we get back to the jokes?

the world is doomed

Anything North of North 7th is Greenpoint. Just saying.

I am boring. Some people enjoy jumping around or dancing at shows. But not me because I live in nyc and am cool. Music is not for fun, it is for elitist grandstanding.
