3rd ave and 7th street

Yes, it's true, we will have a new music venue opening sometime later in 2008. We are JUST beginning construction which should last well into the spring. It is the main owners of Union Hall.

It is one main floor of an old warehouse. The space will be split into a lounge area in the front and a music venue in the back. Capacity is undetermined at this time, but the music venue portion will likely be under 300. It is on 7th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue, it is NOT on the corner and not what Browstoner posted this morning.

Nothing will change at Union Hall regarding booking policies. In fact, we expect our schedule to get stronger with the ability to bump shows over to the new place, when the time comes.

I'll hit you with more info when we have some. No, we don't have a name yet. [Jack McFadden, Union Hall] (photo by Justin M)

one of the comments in the brownstoner posts says this information is wrong - is any of this confirmed?

there will be a new venue by the Union Hall people. It will be right there, but it's not the place Brownstoner photographed, and it definitely won't have three levels (post updated).

Will the stench from the canal be removed?

Would that so many cool music venues existed in the Slope back when I lived there. At the time there was just one forgettable bar-band joint way over near the Prospect Expressway.

Haha Park Slope venue. Good one. They should call this place 'The Mutation' for all the sludge nearby.

No more strollers in Union Hall, thus No more underage babies. Only 21+ babies.

Not a fan of Union Hall, but I will give any venue a chance.

And Park Slope ends at 5th Ave. After that there is no Park and there is no Slope, just stink.

I find it a little stupid to start with all the press about a new venue that isn't even built yet. In this city, it can take a long time to legalize a music venue. I wouldn't jump the gun... there's still plenty of time for the brakes to be put on this place.

"maybe it won't have as many babies or frat guys as union hall"

yeah....ummm...i highly doubt that. park slope is the not-so-new long island/cleveland suburb.
