DOWNLOAD: Titus Andronicus - Titus Andronicus (MP3)

Titus Andronicus

These New Jersey guys make music that makes me happy. And before too long, all the world shall know their joy. They rock a lo-fi punk sound reminiscent of The Thermals, but with perhaps slightly more skewed melodies. [Oh My Rockness]
Definitely a lot of Conor Oberst in there too (as my friend Jeff first pointed out and now I can't get out of my head whenever I'm listening - not that that's a bad thing). Check out the track above. It's song #9 on "The Airing Of Grievances" - their new record being released soon on Troubleman. Listen to more @ MySpace.

Being from NJ, they play a lot in NYC. You've probably already seen them live. A few currently-scheduled tour dates, and a live video, below...

Titus Andronicus - 01/08/2008 - Dain's Place 3

Titus Andronicus - 2008 Tour Dates
Feb 23 - The Democracy Center @ Harvard University Cambridge, Massachusetts
Feb 24 - The Milky Way Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts
Mar 1 - Galapagos Brooklyn, New York

Hmm. Not entirely sure getting on the Second World War memorial and having your photo taken, grinning like tourists-on-space-mountain, is the best way to signal your sensitivity to the world...

not so sure about their live performance...

I had the pleasure of seeing these guys play in Bushwick last week and they were great live so I don't know about /\ that post. maybe an off night?

The Galapagos show is them opening for Eamon Hamilton from Brakes and British Sea Power playing his first US solo show after a British tour...

Posted by Jeff K | February 26, 2008 2:11 PM

I give that Galapagos show a U.2

that video is absolutely awful

saw them open for Foals at silent barn. Really wasnt expecting much, but honestly they were great live.

Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2008 5:23 PM

Absolutely amazing. I've seen them more than a handful of times, and the energy from the band and the crowd never ceases to blow me away. These boys are going places, that's for sure.

Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2008 5:34 PM

Incredible! They've got a lot of passion and it really comes through. Love 'em!

Saw them here in Boston the other night with Hallelujah the Hills. Great night. The Titus live show is a lot better than that video suggests. It's pretty amazing from the 2 times I've seen them

I've seen the band a couple of times in the past. The show was a waste of $5 and a waste of time. these guys are going absolutely no where. the only thing they are going to accomplish is making people go deaf. these "green" hipsters might as well finish their education while they can and start "working for the man"

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2008 2:56 PM

wow. I dont know if you guys drink too much or are high on some expensive drugs. The band seems to have a bunch of great guys from Jersey, but i think the polution there screwed up their ears. Awful music....I would consider going to a kindergarden and listening to a bunch of five year olds sing than listen to this band play again. Its just a bunch of static noise mixed with screaming and crying....I should just buy a horror movie. Sorry for the disappointing news

all you yuppie fags need to shut the fuck up and go listen to NPR and download some Joanna Newsome bootlegs. this band rules and you are all gay.

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2008 8:38 PM

are yuppie fags different from regular fags?

Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2008 9:18 PM

Just dl the song, its definitely cool, not like all the other contrived bullshit out there. I'll have to check them out live for sure.

Kickin' out the jams 24/7. I eat this shit up like a great bowl of mashed potatoes. Inspiring and beautiful.

titus is playing tonight (march 1st) at galapagos on n. 6th. should be a good one....

Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2008 3:24 PM

They're not bad...

But have you ever heard of Wacky Deli?

The first season, that is, before that other guy came along and ruined it.

Posted by Anonymous | March 2, 2008 1:46 PM

yuppie fags are the worst. all other fags are OK in my book

Greatest band ever

I absolutely love this band so much. I've probably seen them at least 10 times-- i know, I'm a total fanboy/nerd, but i can't help it.

I understand that it might not be some people's thing-- and it's not really an either or with vampire weekend either (seriously... there's enough bandwidth on the internet for more than one band).

But i know they play music with tons of heart and remind me of all the best things about bands i love like the exploding hearts, the hunches, black lips (i don't really see the connor oberst thing, though).

Seeing them live is always chaotically awesome in all the right ways-- plus, i'm pretty sure at least one member might still be in high school...

i can't wait for their album-- the two singles they've done have been incredible.

i don't know what your talking about this video is awesome. these guys play the best show ive ever been to.

but anyway, just go see them live. if that doesnt convince you, then this bands not for you.
