Awesome show but why at such a small place and why at Irving?

I promised myself never to go back to that dump

If you hadn't noticed, death metal doesn't exactly play large venues in NYC. I've seen many amazing shows at Irving Plaza from Bad Brains, Rollins West Memphis 3 Benefit, to Slayer. You can see almost from anywhere and the sound is good. This venue is a lot better than BB King's, which is where most metal shows are now. By the way I've been going to shows for over 20 don't think I'm some ignorant hipster. Also, they can always add another show if it sells out.

" By the way I've been going to shows for over 20 don't think I'm some ignorant hipster."

that just means you're an old hipster if you're reading and commenting on Brooklynvegan.

And I've been going to shows for (just shy of) 20 years as well, and not only am I a hipster dufus, but I also don't think my attendance for this long lends itself to some kind of credentials for commenting.

But then again, why should anyone listen to my old bones either.

carry on!

The show was a bit of a disappointment because for Darkest Hour and At The Gates you could hardly hear the guitars. It was mainly double kick drum and bass guitar. Besides that is was great!
