The Beastie Boys (who are working on a new album) helped raise money for The Institute for Music and Neurologic Function by playing a benefit show at Terminal 5 in NYC last night (March 4, 2008). Moby hosted and played guitar for a patient at the institute named Jeremy who opened the show.

was a great show, so much fun!
a taste of nyc of yore.

Posted by danidin | March 5, 2008 12:36 PM

why does terminal 5 suck so much? I've never been but everyone seems to hate that place w/ a passion.

Posted by why? | March 5, 2008 12:54 PM

last night was great and the new screens certainly help when you're at the bar, you don't have to miss any of the show. bboys had a few hiccups in their set, but the rust came off quickly.

if the beastie boys were black, they'd be playing the oldies circuit at asser levy park in the summer.

"if the beastie boys were black, they'd be playing the oldies circuit at asser levy park in the summer. "

dumbest thing I heard all day

If the Beastie Boys sang Doo Wop, they would be playing Richard Nader's Original Doo Wop Reunion Spectacular XIX!!

my first time a T5 and cannot see what all the fuss is about, thought it was fine.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2008 1:46 PM

I have to say... Terminal 5 was great last night.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2008 1:51 PM

...Truer words, truer words...

I'm laughing out loud right now at the comments from people who didnt even go, saying it sucked lol.. gotta love retards with internet access.

The show was great and well worth the price.. drinks on the other hand were wayy overpriced, but who didn't see that coming.

Haven't you notice the trend that people come out in droves to complain about any show thats at Terminal 5. People are hard pressed to believe any show at Terminal 5 can be good. I have been to Terminal 5 and it is fine. People just like to complain about nothing really.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2008 3:04 PM

^^^^^^^ So So So glad i did not go to this show but instead saw them twice over the summer at smaller venues for less money and much better shows. Take that retard Anon 2:57

the boys were raw and in your face, i enjoyed the hiccups, thought it showed that music is real... terminal 5 is alright, great intimate space but people who like to get all the way up front just so they can be cool and snap pictures the whole time and take up space need to learn to stop crying, bitching and complaining when a sea of people going back half a football field comes pressing on your back.....to that fat bitch, get a real camera and a press pass and take some real photos from the other side of the rail, and lose some weight you won't sweat as much

Posted by ihatefatcunts | March 5, 2008 3:12 PM

I've been to other shows at Terminal 5, and last night was much better. The sound seemed way better and the video monitors are a great (much needed) addition.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2008 3:14 PM

"great intimate space"

"when a sea of people going back half a football field"

Wow a disparity in the same comment. Moron, Interminable 5 is far from a intimate space and far from great.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2008 3:19 PM

I think Terminal 5 is fine. I think all the haters are short people. Bitch at Mother Nature, not at the venue.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2008 3:20 PM

Hey, I am tall. 6'0 and i think Terminal 5 sucks shit.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2008 3:23 PM

the space is OK - a little like a gym and sightlines aren't that good - many better venues around - the Beasties on the other hand - - what a pos, awful act

Does anyone have a credible argument as to why the BBoys aren't shite - I'm talking about the music, not the longevity and that they're funny, which is all I've ever heard.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2008 3:27 PM

They have video screens at Terminal 5 now? or were they brought in for the benefit?

Posted by Birdo | March 5, 2008 3:29 PM

call the venue the right name and then call me a moron...
compared to the larger venues the beasties have played at and compared to smaller venues like Roseland and Hammerstein, i'd say Terminal 5 has the capability of being an intimate setting...sure looked nice and cozy up by those tables on the 2nd and 3rd floor...didn't say it was a great place, but it's not a dive...

Posted by ihatefatcunts | March 5, 2008 4:45 PM

wouldn't go to this show for free.

Interminable 5 is a nickname for the place and how bad it is you fucking dunce.
And compared to everything it is not an intimate venue and yes once again you are a moron

"wouldn't go to this show for free."

thank you for your brilliant insight! You've really added to the discussion.
But seriously, why even comment on this post?

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2008 5:48 PM

moby looks like he's been eating several tons of vegan sandwiches lately.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2008 9:31 PM

Missed the point:

$200,000 raised for people like Jeremy who
were set on fire, had their arms cut off and
had will to live restored through music therapy.

If any of you who are bitching about this that and
the other had paid attention, you would perhaps at
this point be thinking beyond your own, small self's.

Posted by es | March 7, 2008 1:06 PM

Show was fantastic, I was on the 2nd floor V.I.P section, and it was awesome. I have no idea why people are bitching about Terminal Five, sound, lighting, ease of entrance, bar access, and obviously the talent, were all great. If you didn't go, you missed a good one, if you did go and had a bad time, maybe you need to seek other forms of entertainment.
I didn't wait more than five minutes for a drink in three hours, I think they know what they are doing!
Fucking Idiots!

Posted by jk | March 7, 2008 1:41 PM

Well said JK..I see no problems with Terminal 5 besides where it is located in the city.

Posted by Anonymous | March 7, 2008 1:48 PM

I was not in the VIP section, I came late and I am 5'2. I walked up to the side and had a fine view and a great time. If you like the Beasties, it was a great show. A perfect mix of old and new. People who complain make their own bad time!
Sincerely,
Pollyanna

Have no cash to buy a building? Don't worry, because that's available to receive the mortgage loans to work out such kind of problems. Thence take a short term loan to buy everything you want.
